OT : Canada Day

My calender tells me tomorrow is Canada day... What's that aboot?

To put it simply, it's our version of the 4th of July. It's our celebration of Canada's birthday.

Listening to fireworks going off around the neighbourhood tonight...looking forward to our city's display tomorrow night, just hoping that the rain holds off although the forecast doesn't look too promising!

It's our time to celebrate Celine Dion, eat poutine and drink 6.5% beer.

Just got back from a spectacular fireworks display and am happy to report that, despite a dismal weather forecast, there was not one drop of rain here today!!!

I was in Saint John, New Brunswick for Canada Day.

Big block party, music, parade. Lots of people wearing Canadian flags in some form or another. Big fireworks display at 10:15. And museums and historical sites were open for free that day!

and for those of us old codgers - Dominion Day....so much more regal sounding than Canada day...sort of god-like....

what can i say, it will always be Dominion Day to me....

(and yes, i remember when you changed your flag to the maple leaf......on the other side of the river, we didn't know what to make of it.....that was long long ago...though it really does seem like yesterday...)
