My son (5) just dropped my daughter's ornament from her first Christmas. :sad1: I did well and didn't cry in front of him...I know he feels badly. It was a small snowglobe. Inside was a rabbit, lamb, blocks spelling 'baby' and other toys. Across the front reads "Baby's first Christmas 1997." On the bottom is a sticker that says AGC inc. Right away I looked on ebay to see if I could find it, but no luck. I thought maybe a wonderful DISer here might be able to help. If anyone has an extra or has seen one of these somewhere I would greatly appreciate the info.

Keep watching eBay...I am looking for a 2002 Disney Frame on there and it is hit or miss...I have a note by the computer to remind me to check...it breaks your heart when those things happen...that is why I don't decorate the tree right now...too many little hands...and far too many expensive and sentimental ornaments.

Wonder if AGC, Inc stands for American Greetings Company? I know that they do different yearly ornaments. If you think it might be you should try writing to their HC in Cleveland to see if they have any old stock.

Hopefully you can find a replacement.

Yes, it does. (as far as I know)

Try to google American Greetings and your ornament, see if you find anything. There are stores (non-ebay) that sell old collectibles.

You can also put a request on the "Want it now" part of ebay. Good luck!

I am so sorry :grouphug:, I feel your pain. We put all of out stuff in storage a few years ago and someone stole everything wedding pic's, baby pics. I was heartbroken. This year we got into ebay and I started looking and I found all 3 kids baby ornaments, and the one from our first Christmas. SOme I really paid for but my tree was more beautiful than it had been in years. Just keep watching I started buying in September. I know it wont be the same one, but you'll find one.

Thanks for all the advice and help looking for the ornament. The one at tias looks to be the closest, though mine had a white base instead of pink. I emailed the company and they replied that I was out of luck, so it looks like I'll be keeping an eye on ebay. At least there are plenty of styles so even if I can't get the exact one, I can get something with the right year on it. Next year the kids will only be putting on the dropable ornaments though!! LOL

Thanks again!!

Treasure those ornaments!! I start in Aug. to search for ornaments for each of my 4 children. Each has their own theme. 1 is trains( the most stressful to find- a decent looking one) , one is Santas (very easy), one is rocking horses(occationally raindeer if they are cute) and one is teddy bears. Now we are adding girlfriends and grandchildren. The children are 2 at 27 (with girlfriends) and one at 19 and one at 17. The sweetest thing was when my sons( one mine and one step) came home and within 10 minutes they asked "What ornaments did you get for us?" They were truly interested. My stepson came to live with us when he was 15. Not the best time to integrate an unrully teenager into a family. He loves to look at the ornaments that are his. They all put up their own ornaments and we try to put the new one up as close to xmas as we can. This year my husband commented to the sons girlfriend's( one is a bit snobby) that the tree look so beautiful because I saved all these ornaments for all these years. They both thought it looked wonderful. I almost cried. He doesn't often notice anything sentimental.
