I wasn't sure where to post this so I hope this question is ok. I am looking at ordering some supplies from gardengrocer or an equivilent for our first day in our villa. Here in Australia we have breakfast cereals called vita brits and weetbix. They are basically the same thing just made by different companies. I want to order the same thing for our villa but I am not sure if there is an American equivilent. Can anyone help?

In Canada we have Weetabix (Spelled with an a in there) but I will need someone to confirm if they have it in the US.

We have been known to pack a box in our luggage of our favorite cereal because even the ones with the same names as Canadian cereals don't seem to taste the same in the US. On our way home, it's more room for souvenirs.

The texture is a little different, more mushy when wet.

I prefer Shredded Wheat myself.

Where have I been?

When did Mini Shredded Wheat become Shredded Wheat.

The ones I was thinking of where called Shredded Wheat "Biscuits". They where the size of your hand. Use to put them in the bowl, add sugar and milk and them stab them repeatedly with your spoon.

That tells you the last time I was down that Isle of the grocery store.

This is the type of cereal I am looking for. I would bring it from home, but would they let us. Food is not allowed to be brought into Australia. They make you dump it at the airport. Can we do it the other way around?

I know the supermarket I used to work at in New England (Stop & Shop) carried this, at least recently (it's not a brand I eat, so I wouldn't look for it regularly). I will ask my parents in FL if Publix carries it and will get back to you. Also, I recommend you visit the weetabix website - sorry, I can't post links yet - at weetabix.co.uk and email them. Most manufacturers can tell you local stores that carry their product. Ask them for locations in Orlando that sell their cereal.

Side note, it appears they have developed a product called "weetabix disney" :hyper:

We can buy weetabix here in our regular Albertson's supermarket in California. Its called organic weetabix. I would guess that Publix should have it. It may be in an organic section or in an ethnic section. There is also an Albertson's in Kissimmee off John Young Parkway

If you are staying in the Formosa Area, the Marketplace in Formosa Gardens Plaza has a large-ish English selection and I would guess that they have it. (However Publixs is cheaper).

Oh and the 24 Superwalmart on US27 has an ethnic section too. You could try there as well.

I have yet to find anything similar in the US!
