I just need to vent. Friday was good up until I left work. As I was walking out to the car I must have dropped my MP3 player out of my coat pocket when I got my keys out. I didn't notice it wasn't there until I was just about to leave the parking lot. I went back inside to double check I hadn't left it on my desk. Went back outside and I saw squished on the pavement. I must have ran it over when I left.
I was bummed. It was almost 2 years old. Though I did replace it when I got home with a better one, but I'm still bummed.
Then while driving home I got pulled over for going through a yellow light. I went through the yellow light along with a minivan beside me. I have no idea why the officer picked me to pull over and not the other one. I think it had to do with my plate. When I renewed my plate last week I ordered a personal plate. Since those are custom made they give you a temporary one to put in your window. I put up the temp plate, but didn't take off my other, old plate yet since we had a ton of ice and snow on Wednesday night. The back end of my car was covered in ice on Friday morning. There was no way I was going to get the plate off, so I left it. The officer gave me a lot of flack over having the old one with the temporary one. I tried to explain it, but he didn't listen. And the light was yellow. I normally do stop for those, but I didn't think I would have been able to safely stop in time. I'm going to write an explanation with it and see if they will lower it to something else. Right now its a 3 point ticket and $105 fine. I have 0 points on my liscense right now. My last ticket was almost 4 years ago.
So Friday night was bad. Today my sister and I went to lunch with our brother at our favorite Chinese restuarant. It was good. He left then to drive back home to Detroit. We then went to another city to go to Hobby Lobby. As we were pulling into Hobby Lobby's parking lot my sister hit this big bump. We go into Hobby Lobby, look around, check out and leave. We decided to go to Joanns to see if they had something my sister was looking for. We notice the car sounds a bit louder. When we park we look and sure enough the muffler is hanging there. My sister had it replaced not quite a year ago and has a warranty on it so hopefully she can get it replaced without too much hassle. After we get what we needed from Joanns we head home. We go the one way home thinking there would be less likely chance of seeing the Police because she doesn't want to get a ticket. We are about 7 miles from home when we see the Sherrif at the one intersection. Ugh. She had her hazards on and was going slow. She pulled off on the road to let some of the cars pass us. The Sherrif then drives by and turns around to stop behind us. Luckily he just wanted to see if we needed a tow or something. We didn't. So he let us go on our way without giving my sister a fix it ticket. I will say that he was quite nice looking!
We finally got home with the muffler still dragging on the ground. Oy.
So it has been quite a weekend so far. Tomorrow I don't plan on going anywhere.
