So I was asked to help come up with a baby shower favor ideas. I have not been to a baby shower in a very long time so I have no ideas at all.
Can anyone help??? We know the baby is a girl and I would to like have a favor that is useful or practical. Something that people will not throw away when they get home, but hopefully have a use for.

ANY help would be appreciated!!

Flower seeds in a clay flower pot

I had iced sugar cookies made in the shape of feet and hands. I bagged them individually and tied them with a pretty ribbon.

This is not really a favor--but something to put out for people to eat.

You can make a candy pacifier, by taking a stick pin and attaching a small piece of ribbon with a life saver in the ribbon loop. Then you slide the pin into a chocolate dinner wafer (such as After 8), and finally you run the pin through a jelly bean.

It sounds kind of goofy, but they are super easy to make and people always really like them.

I love the one that you give out a candle and it has a poem about lighting the candle when the stork makes it's flight. You can google it to get the exact poem. Candles are useable and friendly to dieters! Another thing I love is to dip pretzel sticks in colored chocolate. (pink/blue) You can get that at your craft store. Then you could wrap them individually with ribbon and a note of thanks.

My friends and I are throwing one next month and have a pink theme. We are making little jars of strawberry jam as the party favor.

This was years ago but we did cookie jars. All the dry ingredients layered in a mason jar and the recipe taped to the front of the jar. Everyone LOVED them. You can find the cookie jar recipes on-line

Bath salts in an empty baby food jar. We found them on Ebay but you could easily do them yourself. We were able to choose the color and scent and even choose the design of the label on the jar. Everyone loved them.

Baked cinnamon rolls, individually packaged with a note attached ...

Thanks for coming ... from Jack & Jill's little bun in the oven

Last shower I went to had tons of sweets to eat at the party, plus little baggies with ties for people to take some home. That was a great favor. The tie for the baggies had a little poem or message about the new baby.

I just helped out with a baby shower and we did picture frames and did a poem from the baby I can get it if you need it. We found really nice frames at the Christmas Tree Store and inserted the poems and when the baby comes the mom is going to send out 4x6 pictures for everyone to put in the frame.

I made my own personalized hershey kisses and they were super easy. I got the round stickers from Staples and found a template online for Microsoft Word where you can put words or graphics. I still have the template if you need it I could send it to you.

When I worked at Bath and Body works I had a woman come in and buy a WHOLE LOT of soap. I asked what it was for and she said it was for a baby shower. The tag was going to say "From "so and so"'s shower to yours" I thought it was such a great idea!

I'm not REALLy suggesting this. But...when I was pregnant with my DD, who was conceived through artificial insemination, the favors were turky basters with a bow on them. Many people "got it" because I was very open about our fertility treatments. The reaction of those that didn't was funny.

Lol...just got back from the shower we threw for my sister, and I did the favors. We did little cups of different flavored fudge & personalized candy bar wrappers. I had one of the designers on the Creative Disigns board do a design with the baby's name on it and cute ingredients on the back - very easy and very inexpensive - plus who doesn't like chocolate?

I had pens at mine - they were red and had white lettering that said "The Yellowfish78 Family is Branching Out!" with the due date under that, with an apple clipart next to them. Everyone loved them and I still see them in my purse, at home, at work... :rotfl: We went through a company called Pen Impressions - tons of pens, very low prices.

ETA: Found the link and they also are in pink. http://www.penimpressions.com/garfield.html

If the baby is a girl, you can purchase Hershey bars and then wrap them in pink paper. You will have to figure out the spacing, size, etc....but simply type in the word Hershey but make the "SHE" part in bold letters. Print, cut, fold and glue and you're set. Easy and inexpensive.
