OT: Baby names

OK, so I know it's still early, but I thought it would be fun to see what everyone's favorite baby names are...

These are the ones I've come up with so far....

Girls:
Sophia (sounds pretty especially with our spanish last name - Torres)
Riley
MacKenzie (I'm part Irish)

Boys:
Elijah (Andrew doesn't like it)
Samuel (that's one of my favorites)
Benjamin
I had suggested A.J. - Andrew Edward Jr. - Andrew's not ready for a Jr. yet

Just thought this would be fun for us mommy's to be and potential mom's...

Thanks Sarah. Sophia is my favorite girl's name... we just need to think of a middle name to go with it... Andrew said he'd consider it depending on what we choose as a middle name. We have plenty of time to think about it...

I like the name Riley and Samuel from your list.

I love looking at babies names. I love Madison for a girl, did want the name Morgan but I gave it to my dog Love, Rayne, Tiffani at the moment.
For a boy, well, I'm kinda stuck here. I really like Mason and Kurt, I'm not really clued up on boys names yet.

I like unusual names, wouldn't mind some Italian names when I have children, I'll likely put them in the middle though.

Sophia is beautiful! A friend of mine, her brother and his wife just had a baby girl they named Sofia - his wife was born and raised in Italy.

I have another friend who's son is going to be 2 and they named him Benjamin - great name! Samuel is also cute; I love Sam for a boy.
I don't like A.J. but that's just because I know an A.J. who is a complete and total jerk!

Do you want to know if it's a boy or girl? How early can you find out?

I like Sophia for a girl....my friend has a little girl Sophia Rae....she is just the cutest thing...for a boy i actually like Riley (my cousin just beat me to it)...also like Elijah....

I named my DD after I heard my DH say it in spanish too...so I know what you mean

As for a middle name...I LOVE daisies, so I named her Isabelle Daisy..and we call her Isa...sounds like Esa.....i fits her too...Id be creative with the middle name & make it more original & something really personal. I knew a girl who got her name from combining towo name...it sounded really cool if you can come up with a good combo

As far as the names you have listed, I like Sophia for a girl and LOVE Elijah for a boy (we considered Elijah, but that was DH's dog's name - you can probably see the dilemma)

Scarlett (DH nixed this one - good thing we had a boy)

We would like to find out if it's a boy or girl, but we won't bank on it being the truth. I have known several people who were told one thing and then when the big day came - SURPRISE!! It's the opposite of what they were told. So, yes, we'd like to have an idea, but with our daughter, they didn't tell us until 1 week before she was born... so, I'm game for surprise.

I LOVE the name Scarlett!! Makes me think of Gone With the Wind, but I won't tell DH that. He's not a big fan of the movie... actually, that's not entirely true. He just hates the ending. If he doesn't like the ending of a movie, he brings it back. What a silly boy.

Keep the baby names coming... you guys are giving me some great ideas...

Personally, I like the name Jake, but as some of you have already mentioned, that's my dog's name... oh well...

I'm surprised to see Morgan listed on people's favorite names! It my name and I grew up hating it - I think its because growing up a)no one else was named Morgan and b)it was still more commonly a boys name.

I love the name Sophia - its so pretty! I have to admit when I hear Riley I think of a dog because I know quite a few people with dogs named Riley!

I love the name Sophia....so elegant. I thought of a middle name as well.

How about Sophia Grace? It sounds somewhat old Hollywood but love the name!! Good luck choosing one there are so many beautiful names!!

I vote for Sophia and AJ! And Rose is a very pretty middle name (of course I'm biased )

For girls I like Marisa, Adriana, Diana & Nicola. For boys I like Eric, Phillip, Tyler and Dylan (although we have agreed to give our boys family names so I will eventually have an Anthony Michael, a Charles Philip Jr, and a Joseph Robert - at least I have a Philip in there).

I vote Sophia and Elijah.

DH and I won't be having babies anytime soon (at least I hope not...although I dreamed last night I was pregnant......) But when we do, we like the names Emily, Ethan, Kaitlyn and Kevin.

DH's dad is a twin, and I hear that the twin gene skips generations...so if we have twins, we are set with names, as long as they are a boy and girl!

I love Sophia/Sam because they go with Serena. But I'm biased because my brother and I both have "C" names and I always liked the symmetry....

sophia is pretty...a former coworker of mine gave his daughter sophia as a middle name...

I'd be completely lost for names...good thing I'm not pg! lol We'd probably want to be mean and give them unusual names...poor kids... They will for sure have japanese middle names, just not sure about the first ones...

p.s. my grandmother was a twin...we are waiting for someone in our family to have twins! My cousin is pg. but just with one...we'll see who if anyone gets them!
