So we are taking a Disney break this year after doing it 2x last year. We instead are getting season passes to Six Flags. This will be our first time doing six flags, so we are really out of the loop here. Does anyone do autograph books for the characters they see at Six Flags? I've heard its the Looney Toon Characters and the DC Comic Super Heroes....is that correct too?? Sorry for the OT post.

I'm not sure on autographs. Are you planning for 6 Flags in St Louis?? Just curious as the one in Louisville is now closed and that is the closest one to Clarksville, Tn. Just wanted to make sure you knew that in case that is the one your were planning for.

I didn't see anyone giving autographs when we visited, but I can't be sure. We saw the Loony Toons characters as well as the old man from the commercials. People took plenty of of pictures, but the autograph book didn't seem too popular.

I live in Kentucky and have been to the one in Louisville many times. You rarley ever see a character there. I saw bugs once and all he did was take your picture. The one in Louisville is still up in the air though. They put on the news that is was closed, but the govener wants the fair board to work something out with them because they are a huge tourist attraction. The fair board doesn't want to give them the free rent that six flags is wanting. So who knows if it will open back up or not. My kids were bummed because six flags does a thing every year with the schools. If the kids read for 6 hours they get a free tickt to go to six flags in the summer. My boys had their reading done and now they don't know if they will get the ticket.

It's been a while since I've been to six flags here in NJ, but they never gave out autographs. Even Hershey, the closest thing to WDW, doesn't have characters give out autographs. I don't think they do at Sesame Place, either.

They are no longer even listed on Six Flags' website. That park is not making money for Six Flags and with what they will be paying out to the young lady who lost her foot and other victims of the ride incident, I am sure they will not be back. We also have Holiday World and Kings Island close by that are making the money. My kids prefer Holiday World pver Six Flags anyday.

I've never been to Holiday World. I may have to try it out now. My husband told me that he heard that Six Flags is making it official that they are closing, but that the fair board and the governer said that they want to work something out. Something about Six Flags making a decision without telling anyone they were going to do it. They had so many lawsuits that it doesn't surprise me. Personally I think that they are trying to take advantage of being a huge money maker in Kentucky. I mean no place can expect to get free rent. I just hope that the schools come up with something else to reward the kids with now that they won't get six flags tickets. My one son had his reading done in a week, but it was like pulling teeth for the other 2 to read that long. They hate to read, but did it for those tickets.

I'm not sure the ages of your kids but mine are 17 on Sunday, 11, and 7 and they love Holiday World. Your drinks are free and if you forget sunscreen you never have to worry as they have that free as well. The water park is huge and the kids have a blast. It is also so much cleaner that KK ever was. It has a lot more rides for the in between sizes as well (the ones too little for roller coaster but too big for the kiddie rides). We have actually gone camping at Lake Rudolph in one of their rental RVs and did the park from there. I want to do that again this year. It is still close enough to drive up and return but there are times we go from opening to closing and stay overnight for a break.

I was looking into the St. Louis one because my mom told me they closed the KY Kingdom. Apparently it was the worst of the Six Flags parks anyway. Okay so no autographs is the idea I'm getting which works for me!!!!!! We do autographs at Disney and they just sit around in a book collecting dust. I'm thinking next time we wont be doing them...just pictures.

we have a six flags in IL, and it's very rare that you actually see the characters walking around. And I have never seen them give autographs.

I rarely see any characters out at Gurnee, IL, but we did see several characters last summer at St. Louis - just photos though, not giving autographs.

Funny...we go to SFGA all the time in the summer/fall and we always see the characters...Looney Tunes and DC Comics. Never asked for an autograph, though...we just got pics...
