OT-Are McClaren stroller really worth $$$?

Just so you know. You can buy cup holders and install them. I bought one intending on installing it on ours. (Of course I haven't done it.) I bought this stroller specifically for our Disney Cruise in November. Because I thought both our youngest (15 months) and our oldest 4.5 could ride in it.

If you happen to know or reccomend what would be this model type in 2007?

The 2007 models are Techno XT(299.99) and Techno XLR(349.99) and currently the only difference between the two that I know of is the price.
Some places have them onsale I know www.albeebaby.com still has the Techno Classic for 159.99

Thanks to all for the info. :goodvibes My youngest is 7 months and I would like to buy now so I can get me moneys worth. I don't have to worry about the height issue because I am short. I don't really care about basket because I like to travel light-however I would like cup holders(diet coke addict). Also has to recline. I will use all your suggestions and go shopping.

I bought two of these b/c I am a cupholder kid of gal. I only have one on my stroller but the other really comes in handy when we are in disney.

Also check out Ebay for Maclarens. I got a red Triumph for 75.00 including shipping, and it is great. I am sure it is some model from past years, but really, I don't care. We had to dump a kolcraft stroller at disney last year because the wheel broke off when my 45lb DS was in it (he was waaaaay over the weight limit). I got the Mac so that we had a stroller he could use in those lots of walking areas, like Disney. I have been keeping my eye out for another deal, since my DD is 30lbs and loves the Mac too. But a plain old umbrella stroller still works for her for the time being.

I have been searching for a thread too on here about saddle bags you can put on the side of the Macs so they don't tip over. Anyone remember that thread? I am hoping to get a good deal on that too!!!:thumbsup2

Worth every penny! I have had 2 zoopers, a combi, and now a maclaren triumph! The Mac is by far the easiest to steer and push - even with one hand! I should have just bought the mac to begin with - the best umbrella stroller out there IMO.
Now regarding only stroller - I would suggest having one umbrella (the mac) for quick trips/traveling and one full-size if you have young toddlers/babies.

Here's a link to the triumph I bought - it's on clearance: http://http://www.albeebaby.com/ma20trstingo.html

I just ordered this same stroller yesterday. Glad to hear it's a good one! That website seems to have the best prices on the Macs. I tried to get our local Babies R Us to match it, but they couldn't even come close. Plus no shipping charge and no sales tax outside of NY.

Another vote for Maclarens here! I wish I bought them when DS was little!!! I got my first one when DD was maybe 8 months old. I got a Quest, which is SO lightweight and perfect! Even at 8 months, she did just fine in it. After I bought that one, I realized DS still needed a stroller sometimes...trips to the mall, trips to the zoo, trips to Disney, etc. So I went looking for a double Mac...got a GREAT deal on Ebay for the Twin Traveler! (now known as the Twin Techno) I cannot live without these strollers. Yes, the Quest does tip over when you take baby out if you have something hanging over the handle bars. But you get used to it. The storage basket isn't big, but it's not tiny either. And each Mac comes with its own rain cover.

You can't beat a Mac!

P.S. They ALL recline except the Volo...my Quest and Traveler go practically flat.

Got back two weeks ago with our new Maclaren Triumphs (we bought two on clearance). Best purchasing decision ever. I could even push my 50 lb 7-year-old with one hand. Up hill. :lmao: The rain guard included works great - so many people stopped me at WDW and asked about it.

Thanks for all the help we just had the Maclaren Tecno 2006 delivered and you guys were right it is everything we wanted. :thumbsup2

Yep, Macs are great!!! I purchased the Volo for our DD7 (at the time) just for 2 Disney trips instead of renting. It was cheaper since I got the Volo for $68 shipped in 2005. What a great find. The stroller pushes like a dream- even now DD is 9 (55pounds) and while she doesnt use it- I had her get in it to try it out- it still pushes like she isnt even in it. I dont tend to travel with a bunch of stuff so the smaller basket doesnt bother me. I have also found that the baby tray on the front of a stroller is useless. With my other 3 kids, all I ever did was put stuff on the tray (toy or food) and they threw it off and I picked it up again- so no big loss for me on that. I would, however like to have a cup holder for me, but guess I can buy one to add on. I liked the stroller so much that I bought a Quest from allbeebaby for $129 for our newest addition. After she is out of the stroller/carseat combo this will be my only stroller. They are so lightweight and easy to manuever that I cant wait to get rid of the heavy, bulky carseat/stroller combo.

We just got back from our 6-day WL stay, and we took our Mac Techno Classic (2004). It was a workhorse, we could not have survived without it. I loved having the full recline, Alison fell asleep in it several times and it left DH and I free to roam the park while she napped. One thing I would recommend is a large tote bag that folds and is pretty roomy. When you have to collapse the stroller, it will come in very handy for holding everything that was in the basket. Get one with big handles so you can throw it over your shoulder.

I also bought a SkipHop saddlebag which was great to store sunscreen, snacks, etc., and it stayed on when the stroller was folded, and was easily accesible. We also had the Maclaren Universal Organizer which was great. I wish I had brought an oversized sunshade (like the Protect-a-Bub), but the one on the stroller was sufficient enough.

It was our pack mule, and we loved it. :goodvibes

You could be me, LOL.

We have a Quest and I do bring a large bag where I put everything in smaller zip lock bags, and the moment that I unfold the stroller for the day I put everything under the stroller and fold the bag. I have found that I can fit everything and more under that stroller, LOL and I still have a Ship Hop saddlebag for the things that we want to have handier and also the Maclaren Organizer.

I don´t know what we will do when DD doesn´t need a stroller any more.

We have 12 strollers, (Yes I have a sickness ;) ) and the two Mac's that I have are my favorite. I have a Peg Perego double that I am getting rid of to get a Maclaren double because they are just so much nicer.
