OT: Anyone own a FLIP UltraHD camera?

Some more questions (thanks for everyone's help)

1) Anyone know when the latest version came out? I'd hate to buy one now and a new version be released in April.

2) is the only difference between the ultra and Mino the size?

1) No idea what the latest version is.

2) Found this out you know were.

- MinoHD has 4GB storage, UltraHD has 8GB

- MinoHD has 1.5-inch 528×132 screen, UltraHD has 2-inch 960×240

- Video compression, codec, etc. is exactly the same between the two: 1280×720 resolution, 1/4.5″ CMOS sensor, 9.0Mbps bitrate, H.264 codec, etc.

- Lens type is the same

- MinoHD has non-replaceable, rechargeable battery that lasts two hours and charges in three, UltraHD has rechargeable battery pack and can also use regular AA batteries, batteries last 2.5 hours and take six hours to charge

- MinoHD measures 3.94″ x 1.97″ x 0.63″ and weighs 3.3 ounces, UltraHD measures 4.25″ x 2.19″ x 1.17″ and weighs six ounces

- MinoHD uses composite cable output, UltraHD uses HDMI output to connect to TVs

- MinoHD shell can be customized with tattoo-like designs, UltraHD just comes in black or white shell colors

All things considered, I’d go with the UltraHD over the MinoHD if size isn’t an issue for you. They’re both pretty small anyway. You get double the storage, HDMI, a bigger LCD, longer battery life, and the ability to use AA batteries in a pinch.

Please let us know how you like it. I plan to get one sometime before PCC 2.0 but Jan, Feb, and Mar, are "no buy" months. Well, except for the $99 Universal passes. I needed those.

I have a Mino... and love it. I sold off my $900 JVC because it was collecting dust.

May have to sell the Mino in April, Kodak has a new camera coming out that will be waterproof up to 10 feet and record in 1080p HD. Should retail for $150:

Anyone have the power adapter that lets you charge the camera through a wall outlet?

Yes. It will fully charge the mino in 2 hrs and the ultra in 3 1/2 hrs. It's a great alternative when traveling without a computer.

that Kodak product looks mighty tempting. Although I had a bad experience with one of their digital cameras recently.
