OT - Anyone else's children want "Ugly Dolls"

Has anyone seen these???

My son saw them in a magazine a few days ago and he was bugging me endlessly until I took him to the store to get one.

Now, he wants all of them.

Does anyone else have children who collect these or asked for one for christmas??

I saw these the other day while Christmas shopping for my kids. I thought they were the cutest things! My kids are not really into the stuffed animal toys, too bad. Maybe I'll get one for myself!

I bought one for a friend's new baby boy. She's got a sick sense of humor and thought it was hilarious. We'll see if the child develops a fondness for the thing.

My DS got Jeero as a gift when he was a newborn, and the doll has turned into his number one comfort object and pillow.

The dolls appeal to adults because they're, well, ugly in a funny way and have humorous backstories. Take away all of the adult irony though, and the dolls appeal to kids because they're soft, very durable, are nice and simple (no batteries, no funny sound effects, no accompanying DVD or mega playset), and have big eyes and friendly faces. Well, who really knows why kids glomm onto a particular doll, but the Ugly Dolls have been a big hit with the kids in my extended family.

I have a small keychain ugly doll, and my SIL just got DS a small plush size, too. I LOVE them....I think they're hilarious!

I bought jeero for myself a few years ago, I had a hard time picking which one I wanted. I thought they were so cute.
