I swear I love the 2 weeks the Olympics are on.

I watch every single night, and in the mornings I'm watching highlights, and also check the websites, lol.

What are you favorite events? Is there anything that you MUST watch?

And am I the only sap who ends up tearing up when the National Anthem is played? LOL

My favorite events are the equestrian (jumping, dressage, and eventing) because my daughters and myself ride, and you're not alone, I tear up anytime I hear our Anthem, too. :)

Another junkie here. I record everything and watch it the next day. I love it. The only think I don't watch is the boxing. My housework is suffering because of it :confused3 Thank goodness its only every 4 years....lol. I love to watch the swimming and volleyball. GO USA !!!

Let's see . . . I watch gymnastics, swimming, diving, track and field, beach volleyball, synchronized swimming, boxing, rowing, kayaking, whitewater canoeing, archery, equestrian (love the cross-country part), cycling, and I'll definitely check out the BMX and trampoline! :)

I've been tired all day because I stayed up until almost one watching men's gymnastics! Now, I'm awake because it's the women's night!!

Count me in. I have it on all the time and even have started watching some of it on line. Loving the swimming events and of course the diving. Can not wait until next week to see the Judo and also the TaeKwon Do (I think these last 2 might have something to do with that my DH is a 5th Degree black Belt in TaeKwon do and a blue belt in judo.)

I like so many events.

Swimming, diving, beach volleyball, regular volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, track and field, and basically anything that's on with the USA in it, lol.

I think my housework has been suffering too. At least this past weekend it did. Good thing my Mom was WONDERFUL today while she was watching my little girl while I was at work and she did some laundry, dishes, etc. She's got OCD with cleaning, which in this case is not such a bad thing, hehehe.

I've been glued too. My cousin is THERE! She sails, 470 for any sailors out there, Look for Amanda Clark and Sarah Mergenthaler, Sarah is my cousin. Unfortunately they don't seem to be airing anything about sailing, it's just online. I can't wait to see all my aunt and uncles' pictures when they get back from China. GO USA!!

Completly addicted but I am in Australia and their commentators have really poor sportsmanship. They really bag out the americans and even their own athletes. I also decorated my office at work with about 50 us flags and other decorations and I have been verbally assaulted on a daily basis about it. Honestly I love the olympics but I am getting emotionally wore out. GO PHELPS!!!

There isn't a whole lot I don't watch. I stick to a lot of the more popular events though - gymnastics, basketball, swimming, volleyball.

I'm glued to my TV the entire time the Olympics are on. I don't watch anything else. It's a sickness but my excuse is that it's only on every 4 years!! :lmao: :lmao:

Count me in as a junkie too!! We've been taping almost all of it. My daughter and I can't get enough of the gymnastics!! Of course my DD 7 asked me when she was going to that meet. :rotfl: I had to explain that the Olympics isn't really a "meet" like she is use to LOL........not sure that she completly got it.:rotfl2:

I love the Olympics too! I watch most of the sports - there are a few that don't interest me but I give them a try. The only bummer is darn work gets in the way of me staying up to see the end of a lot of stuff like gymnastics. I DVR the end but usually end up hearing the outcome before I can watch it. If it was a nail biter, I usually watch it anyway just to see it.

I forgot to say, the last time the Olympics were on I was in labor, and then giving birth, lol. So the Olympics this time are kinda special for me, and I think they always will be. Next Wednesday is D day! LOL

I love the Olympics! I love the drama and the surprises. The late nights are killing me though! I keep getting to bed late bcause of of gymnastics and swimming.

I have to go back to work tomorrow, I'm a teacher. My late nights are over. I'm just going to have to Tivo it!

I have been a total junkie! I'm watching around 6-8 hours a day! Benefits of a being a stay at home mom :)

I'll weigh in with a 'by proxy' vote. My husband. Sheeeesh. Every night he's got the bedroom TV on (we never really use this TV - mostly it's a someplace to put my kids so they can watch a movie, to keep me from jumping off the roof). It's always "I just want to see this one event....", and then he gets all sucked in and is oohing, aaahing, and wowing for 3 hours.

Tonight I'm dropping the hammer on the bedside seats. He needs to stay downstairs, lol.

To me the Olympics have a kind of magic just like Disney does. I watch as much as possible and read books about famous Olympians. I never look at basketball on TV but during the Olympics I watch every Team USA game.

I am a big fan of the Olympics, dh not as big as me. Big fan of gymnastics, since dd is a competitive gymnast herself. We were at the Olympic Trials in Philadelphia, so she has already seen with her own eyes these girls compete.

4 yrs ago after the last Summer Olympics we headed down to Disney and Michael Phelps and a few other swimmers were there. Our first day, we had lunch at ESPN Club and Michael Phelps (and the others) were in the same room as us doing a radio interview show for I guess ESPN radio. We got to watch the entire interview and afterwards I got pictures of both of my kids with him. We head back to Disney again in 9 days, would love to see some more athletes, especially Michael Phelps again - even better would be Shawn Johnson....
