OT: Any Bachelor fans here?

What did you guys think of the finale? I didn't really understand why Vienna was portrayed as being so awful, I thought she was kind of funny. She reminded me of me, when I first meet people I'm really nervous and giggle and say stupid things. It takes people a while to warm up to me. Maybe she's like that too.

What about Allie? I was disappointed, I thought she seemed far more catty and immature than Vienna. I was hoping for Gia as the new Bachelorette.

Of couse, we only know what the producers choose to show us of each woman.

I'll admit to it. Yes.

I liked Vienna. She seemed like she was being herself. The other girl was a bit phoney.

The Bachelor's family seemed a bit precious too. The mom seemed like she really had her claws in her sons.

I suppose someone has to be the bad girl. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with editing.

I agree about his family. I was thinking that Jake shouldn't choose a girl based on whether his mom thought she would get along with the sister in laws. I mean, getting along with family is important, but it seemed that his mom prioritized that over what Jake may have wanted.

Did anyone think that Jake was sort of a dork? I liked him and think he is smokin hot but still a dork.

I do think Allie is catty too. But I am excited to see her season. I am in love with this silly show.

Any man that wakes up and is totally in love with TWO women, and has "no idea who he's going to ask" ON THAT DAY..shouldn't be asking either one of them. Who does that?

I sure as hell wouldn't want to be proposed to by someone who was in love with someone else too and had been passionate with the other person. I know it's a reality TV show and all, but the whole thing just seems stupid.

We do only see what they show us..this is true.

I didn't care for Vienna but she grew on me.

The biggest shocker for me last night was seeing them announce the "Dancing with the Stars" cast and seeing KATE GOSSELIN on the list Isn't she busy enough as a single mom of 8?? LOL

I really feel exactly the same way, about all of it! Including Allie being the catty, snarky hater. Not too thrilled that SHE's going to be the new star of my fave show. But heck yeah, I will still watch it.

Also, I thought it was really really sweet how Jake was sticking up for Vienna at After the Final Rose -- "Vienna, that girl is my baby. It's okay if people don't understand why I love her. I know why, and that's all that matters". Awwww!!!!

I think they always sorta make them seem conflicted at the end, otherwise, who would watch the finale? It definitely is a stupid idiotic show, but I LOVE watching it!!! When a 2 hour episode ends, I'm like, OMG, I CAN'T WAIT till next week!

I think the show makes the Bachelor act like he's all confused and doesn't know who he wants to make it more dramatic. IMO, he had known that it was Vienna for a while. You could tell that their interactions were different than his and the other women's, more natural.

My son actually watched the Bachelor with me this time, and I've threatened him with disowning if he ever brings home a reality TV star!

Kate G, I'm so tired of seeing her face and constantly changing hairstyle. Hasn't reality TV done enough damage to her family?

Yep - guilty pleasure here too, although I've got DH into it as well. Mostly because I monopolize Monday nights. He just sits there saying "just shoot me now".

I also read Reality Steve cause I think he's pretty funny, His take on Alli not being able to stay for Jake but then turning around to be B'ette makes sense.

He said when she was choosing between a 40K (approx.) job and a maybe 1 in 4 chance to be chosen in today's economy she made the smart choice. That was back in November.

In January when the show started airing and the producers saw the initial positive reaction to her they offered her her own show. In that case she's looking at six figures for three months of shooting and being the one to choose between 25 guys. From there she can springboard to other opportunities - Melissa Ryecroft now an ET special correspondent after doing DWTS and Jake now on DWS also. Much more motivating for that kind of money and being in the drivers seat than quitting the security she had at the time for a maybe.

makes her a poor choice for a wife...for anyone? The whole "isn't it funny how many car wrecks I've had" bit! That isn't immature, it's narcissistic and dangerous. When I see people who thing that type of behavior is funny or entertaining I always hope that when they finally kill someone, it's themself and nobody else.

If Jake marries her he would be smart to buy her a bitty sports car and tell her he'll drive the kiddies.

As for DWTS...won't be watching this year! Too danged bad...I love Niecy Nash, but I will not watch that Gosslin woman for even a single episode. And if she gets voted off that first week? Too bad, so sad. Too late.

I don't like Vienna at all and I predict that the relationship won't last long. Jake said that all his past relationships were based on physical attraction and didn't work but then he goes and picks her because of the physical chemistry???? Also, did you notice how they through in the bit about her eloping and being married before for only 3 weeks? I liked Tenely better, but liked Ali the best and was sad to see her go.

My two daughters and i enjoy watching this crazy show together...

I started out hating vienna, and ended the season still not liking her..she grew on me a little, but i find her very immature...i found it funny also, jake was the one who kept bring up "wes" to jillian, and all the girls kept bring up vienna to him, and he ignored them... I did like tenley but dont think she is ready to get married again, she talks about her ex way too much...my absolute favourite was allie, i think her and jake seemed the best for each other...looking forward to may when the new season starts..

While I'm not a fan of the show. I just thought I'd mention, he lives around the corner from me. I've seen him outside and he has taken photos with many in my community. He seem very kind, considering. We have yet to see Vienna at his place.

Wow.. thanks for the post, I agree, but anyone I know hates her.. I think with reality shows (although I love them) they edit the show to how they want you to feel. They tape sooo much they can make anyone look bad/good. Glad to know Im not the only one who likes Vienna. I think the girls knew her and Jake connected from the start

Thanks for posting this. I am so glad to hear others felt the way I did about Allie.
I was really pulling for Gia and had high hopes that she would be the next bachelorette. Did not like Allie at all, found out on this thread that she is getting her own show? What the heck? How is she going to work and smooch on all those fellas at the same time? From what I saw it seemed like Allie was the one who was always talking about Vienna behind her back and stirring up drama against Vienna. I also really did not like it when Allie LIED right to Vienna's face, saying she had not been whispering to the other girls in the rose ceremony that she could not believe Jake kept Vienna, what is she still doing here blah, blah. Having gotten my dislike for Allie out, I have to say I thought that Vienna was pretty low class...sneaking down to Jake's room right in front of Gia, always sneaking up on him when he was with one of the other girls etc. And finally the other gal that made it to the top 2, Tenley (sp?). She was just weird. So bawly squawly all the time about her ex etc and then on manic highs jumping on the furniture!
Anyway I heard on the radio yesterday that somehow somewhere it came out that Jake already has a girlfriend? And that she is really mad that he proposed to anyone. Their deal was that he could go on the show but not propose. Then they said that Vienna has a boyfriend already as well? Did anyone else hear that? The station is usually pretty reliable so it really floored me! I would really love for someone to correct me and say that was a hoax!
