Sorry if these questions are strange...DD has just discovered the AG craze and for Christmas we are taking her to the store in Natick to get a Kit Kitteredge doll and accessories. We have never been before and we are new to AG, so we have some questions.

1. I can't seem to find a direct number to the Natick store. Does anyone know if they can be reached directly by phone?

2. Has anyone ever heard of them "running out" of dolls, particularly around the holiday season?

3. My daughter got money from her uncle to buy Kit's dog "Grace", which is offered in the catalog, but I am wondering if they sell him in the store. Has anyone been recently that could shed some llight?

4. My mom gave her money for the nightgown the she and Kit can wear, also offered in the catalog. Has anyone seen this item in store recently?

5. We are not doing a meal at the Bistro, but we want to stop by the dessert counter. Do we need to make reservations for that, or only for the Bistro?

Again, sorry if these questions are strange, but I can't find a number to call the store to find out myself. Thanks in advance for any input you can give!!

There is a lot of information on the Natick (Boston) store here:

We went to the American Girl Place in Alpharetta GA back in June. My understanding is that these "boutique" type stores are different in what they stock than the larger ones in Chicago and NY. In GA at least, they didn't have the Just Like You pets available--I don't recall seeing pets for the Historical dolls either. Most of the clothing for dolls was there, but they do sell out of items (and dolls) at Christmas.

If it were up to me, I would just call this number 877-247-5223 and ask to be transferred to the Natick store to ask your specific questions--at least that way you'll have more reliable, first-hand information. Good luck--and bring extra $$$, we spent more than we planned :)

Go during a weekday and be there the second they open. Everytime I've been to this store it has been pretty crazy, I'd assume they don't have a slow time. Its a very nice store, it would be difficult to estimate inventory, they only put a couple (5) of each item on the shelves, I would guess they have plenty of stock "out back".

I was there for the first time last week. They had tons of every doll that I could see. I know I saw Grace the dog, not sure about that particular nightgown but they did carry the matching clothes for girls and dolls. You are smart to just get dessert - the food was pretty gross and expensive considering the make you get an appetizer and my kids didn't like any of it! They had a blast though - we'll definitely just do the milkshake route if we go again next time we visit my mom up there.

We've gone to the Natick store a few times. I would call ahead and make sure what you're looking for is in stock and ask them to hold it for you. With just 10 days til Christmas, who knows what the stock will be?

We've never done the Bistro as the prices are $$$$$$$$$$$ and it's next to impossible to score a reservation. We have done the dessert counter twice (there IS a Cheesecake Factory right next door to AG as well as a California Pizza... MUCH, MUCH better options in my opinion! LOL!) You don't need a reservation for the dessert counter-you just have to wait for seats to open up. They serve very $$$$ and small appetizers as well as desserts at the counter.

They have a hair salon for dolls upstairs where you can have your dolls' ears pierced as well. The only thing is, if you don't get in that line right when the store opens, the line is massive.

Good luck and have fun!

We went to the bistro over the summer - it was a Monday- and had no trouble making a reservation, oddly enough. My brother was out with my niece (8) (they live in Seattle), my mom, my other brother and his daughter (6), me and my son (he wasn't 2 yet) went. Going to the store made me more happy that I have a son because if I had a little girl -I'd be broke buying all the AG stuff!!! I loved it!
Like PPs, I would call ahead with your requests. I found this # on the Natick Collection website:
508 655 4800

I was at the AG store out in Natick this morning! I wish I had seen this email before I went.

They did have Kit's dog (I bought this one) and they had Kit's striped nightgown, too. I didn't notice if they had the striped nightgown for girls. They seemed to have a lot of items in stock.

The store wasn't too busy (about 5 people ahead of me in line) but the parking lot at the Natick Mall was crazy!! :scared1: The store opened at 10, I pulled into the parking lot at 10:45 and it still took me awhile to find a spot.

Have fun--the store is great!
