OT American Girl age question?

My 7 year old has two AG dolls.. receiving her first one on her 6th birthday.. no worries

My DD got bitty baby when she was 2. When she was 3 she got her 1st AG doll and she will be 7 next month and has 4 now. She loves them and has a special place in her room for them (doesn't throw them in her toy box) and puts them away when she's finished playing with them.
If your daughter is into dolls, she'll love it. I don't understand why they suggest ages 8 and up.

My dd was 3 when she got Nellie from grampa (a bit too young-sat in the box for a year). She's now 4 and also has Bitty Baby with all the accessorries and loves her. She's started to show an interest in Nellie and takes really good care of her, but prefers to play with Jip the Dog and Coconut .

My DD just received an AG doll for Christmas from my MIL. DD is really not into dolls, she never has been, but MIL insisted. When DD opened the box she showed no reaction to the doll and it has stayed in it's coffin box since Christmas. She hasn't even looked for it. If your DD loves dolls and you know she will take care of it then get it for her.
