ot-Aerosmith breaking up

Just heard on the radio this morning that it looks like Steven Tyler is leaving the band. Now the question is will Disney revamp Rock N Roller coaster? I hate to see the band break up but I am more concern about one of my favorite rides having a new soundtrack.

I hope they don't do any thing to the ride.
But areosmith has so much music that is still poplular. I see people my age and younger wearing areosmith shirts.
So i don't see that disney has a reason to.

I read somewhere that the Aerosmith contract is up next year, and of course that makes one speculate whether Disney will pay the license fee that "Aerosmith" (I put it in quotes to emphasize Aerosmith the corporate entity and not Aerosmith the band, I don't know how connected/disconnected the two of them are) will ask for. Disney will be thinking, "Is the "Aerosmith" Rockn Roller Coaster experience so vital to the ride that we couldn't re-theme/re-score it to use another band and/or Disney owned property, or would changing it totally drive away all riders?". I would think it would be much cheaper for disney to re-theme the ride with a disney property/artist but maybe business cost analysis, and focus group research will tell the disney corporate bean counters that this assumption is incorrect. We can only speculate and hope this won't happen to our beloved Hard Rock Roller Coaster.

Welll, the rumors were there that this past year the contract was up (10th year anniversary of the attraction), and nothing happened.

Assuming there is no contract expiration, I don't see anything happening short term.

FYI, Joe Perry says Aerosmith is not "breaking up"...they may be looking for a new lead singer though...

Interestingly, this echo's very closely what happened between Journey and Steve Perry...

Have you heard the new Journey? Arnell has an amazing voice, and i think hes a great addition. However, Steven Tyler has such a distinct voice, that replacing him will be hard. RNR should just stay this way.

I like both Arnell and even Steve Augeri before him (I think "Arrival" was a great album), but its hard not to just think of them as copycats...

If you want a copycat, you can generally find one. Whether they can sustain an entire concert night after night is another matter...and whether they will be accepted at all is the biggest issue.

Queen kind of sidestepped the issue by billing themselves as "Queen with X", instead of just calling themselves Queen.

I'm an Aerosmith nut from way back, and I would agree about the voice. He was an option on an online poll I saw, also.

I couldn't see anyone fronting Aerosmith besides Tyler. This is just a shame. It's amazing to me that after 40 years together that he and Joe Perry can't get along.

I don't see Adam Lambert stepping in however, Sammy Hagar?
