I was in a resale shop today, and found a little girl's dress (size 6x) that is the exact replica of American Girl Felicity's colonial costume. The tag on the dress says "Pleasant company" which I think is the old name for the American Girl company. I'm familiar with the contemporary "dress like your doll" outfits that AG offers, but does anyone know if the company used to make the historical outfits for little girls as well? Thanks in advance!

Yes, Pleasant Company was the original name, before it was sold to Mattel, and they did make girls' costumes. The dolls were better made back then too, and are more valuable.

You have yourself an authentic "vintage" American Girl dress. May I ask what it cost? I am GREEN with envy!! :lmao:

thanks for the feedback! It was $20, so I hesitated but went ahead and got it. It is a tight squeeze for my older girl, but the little one will eventually grow into it. Now I just need to find an event for her to wear it!
