OT: 2010 lego sets

DS (age 7) is a huge Lego fan...right know he has Indiana Jones and Star Wars...but I have seen some info on Toy Story ones coming out.
Has anyone heard any rumors about how early some of these new sets will start showing up? Last year right before Christmas 2 or 3 new Star Wars sets came out (they were small, like $10 to $12) but guess who bought them all as a surprise and had already over bought for Christmas. I swore I wouldn't do it this year, but I have an urge to buy everything he wants. I am trying to hold off on some things if I think any of this will pop up before the holiday.

My oldest is a huge Lego fan! A couple weeks ago, Amazon.com listed the Toy Story lego release date as January 1, 2010, and allowed pre-orders. But now I can't find it - not sure why.

We got a lego magazine thing last week and they were listed as coming out in Jan 2010, along with new Ben 10 legos... this really stinks since DS would LOVE these and it's not till AFTER Christmas... guess I'll be working on his B-day with those!

count me in as having a son who is totally into legos as well. we went to a lego convention 2 weekends ago and they took us in a room for a preview of the upcoming sets. yes ben 10 and new stars wars ones and toy story too. i loved loved loved the toy story ones. i want them for me!!!!!! the sign on them said april of 2010. and some new sea ones. on the idea of aqua raiders sort of. it was neat to actually see them!

Interesting...previous "Disney" themed blocks have come from Megablocks, but I always thought Disney and Lego should team up.

I just moved out of Orlando, but will be back in Disney this Sunday -I am going to swing by the Lego Store at DTD and see what I can find out, especially since as a "flagship store" they often sell 2010 sets early.

I'll let you know what I find out.

Lego did a few Mickey sets back in 2000 before Megabloks signed an agreement with Disney. Lego just got the license back this year.

I know what the easter bunny will be putting in stockings. If they have them at the Lego store we will get them when we are DTD in Feb.

A beautiful new pirate ship last Pirate Lego is making it comes out Jan 1st cant wait i need 2 one for my 2 boys.New Star Wars one also .

I was in Toys r us today, and there were 3 Atlantis lego sets. One was small (I think like a crab) and not very much $$. There was a shark/whale like one (big pointy teeth) that was around $20, then some sort of underwater vehicle that was probably $40 or $50. They were not part of the BOGO 1/2 off sale !! I was hoping the Atlantis collection was alittle more like the little mermaid....I mean like mer-people and sea creatures and a castle etc....it seems more like space police 20,000 leagues under the sea !! I am sure DS will want !!

Wow! Thanks for the info. everyone. We were in the Lego Store near us and didn't see anything on these new releases.

DS10 is a huge Lego fan/ Disney fan and will be happy to hear about the Toy Story ones.

I'm even more excited for my nephew(10) who has a sensory disorder. 2 of his favorite things are Legos and Ben10. He will over the moon when he hears!

sorry just saw this. it was in hartford ct. we live in rhode island so it was about 3 hour drive for us. but so worth it. by the time we got there on saturday it was sold out so we bought tickets for sunday and spent the night there. my son just loved it. i think they tour around so maybe you could find it near you.

Target and LEGO-brand stores have started recieving two of the Toy Story sets this Wednesday, the Army men and jeep set ($9.99) and the Buzz/Woody/RC set ($19.99). So check your local Target and LEGO stores.

I was at Toys R Us today and they had a Buzz set, a car with Buzz and Woody, a spaceship, the Army Men and the Wild West Town set. I got the Army Men today and hope that some other people will get the others for my son for Christmas. They are super cute!
I also saw the Atlantis sets and Ben 10.

A big Thank You! I had no idea these were coming out and now DS is getting Woody's Round Up!

They do not have them in Canada yet, but I called the Targets near my parent's (did not have them yet) and the TRU's (did have some) and the second TRU had one left, but would not put it on hold so I called my Dad and he headed out and got it!

I love when my topic idea does some good for people !!

I picked up a new racer set for DS, you build it then attach it to a little air pump and send it off with your foot...cute. Ds is 7 so I thought it was a cool pick. I guess I should have got one for his best friend too, so they could race.

This is great news!!! I was worried when they took them down from Amazon, because we have a January birthday coming up and Toy Story legos are a central component! Thanks so much!
