For those whose kids love LEGO City, the first wave of 2010 LEGO City sets has shipped to Toys "R" Us stores, as well as LEGO brand stores. Toys R Us is selling them at retail right now, before the inevitable 10% mark-up that they put on all LEGO sets. There are two new small sets that make great stocking stuffers. The new themes for LEGO City's January releases this year are "Fire" and "Airport."

The sets:

Airport Traveler - $3.49
City Car - $4.99
Seaplane - $9.99
Fire Helicopter and Jeep -$42.99
Fire Boat - $49.99
Fire Station - $79.99

Also, the second wave should start appearing shortly, but probably not in time for the 25th:
Repair Truck

Tanker Truck
Helicopter and Limo
Passenger Jet
Airport

Cool! I like that city car. It looks like a Smart Car. I wish they would make some more original sets instead of just changing up the fire station and airport. Those have been redone so many times. How about giving the Lego city a school, library, playground, office building, a restaurant that doesn't serve pizza, etc?

Thanks for posting the new lego pics. :thumbsup2

Well, there is a City set available directly through LEGO right now that includes a movie theater, gas station, park and city hall.

Toys "R" Us will be selling a very cool exclusive (albeit expensive) City set that has nothing to do with emergency services, airplanes or a pizzeria. It will debut at the New York toy fair in February. It will be part of the June 2010 releases, and promises to be an amazing "flagship set."

A new line of trains will arrive in June, including a cargo train, passenger train, train station and railroad crossing. They will use a new train system after all the complaints they got from the current R/C trains.

The helicopter/limo is at least original though.
