The Studio Chapter welcomes animation collector Tom Safer as he presents his multimedia show Animation and the Oscars at our next meeting on Sunday, November 17th.
An avid fan and collector of animated films, Tom has gone through his vast collection to put together a presentation of Academy Award-winning shorts, with an emphasis on award winners from the 1930s and 1940s -- the golden era of Disney animation. In addition to many classic Disney cartoons, Tom will also be showing animated films produced by other studios. Many of the shorts that Tom will be showing in his presentation have been seldom seen for many years, so this will be a program that no fan of animation will want to miss. Well also be holding a raffle for fabulous Disney prizes, so please join us for a fun and fascinating afternoon!
The Studio Chapter meets at 1:00 p.m. in the Mary Pickford Education Center at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage, located directly across from the L.A. Zoo in Griffith Park. There is plenty of free parking. Non-members are welcome to attend. For more information or directions, please visit our website, http://www.geocities.com/studiochapter , or e-mail Paul Schnebelen at pschnebs@yahoo.com .
