Oscar Thread

Thank God for you people here. I wouldn't have lasted this long. :grouphug:

No, I don't think Helen Mirren's had plastic surgery. She's always looked that way.

the band dropped their rolling papers!!!!

hahahahahahhaha

MIkeeee

Winslet's one of the go-to women for her generation. I think she might end up overlooked for a while because now people expect her to give a strong performance.

She always gives strong performances; the problem is that she chooses very few mainstream roles. Alot of the film's that became hits this year were smaller, off-the-beaten-path productions, so if this trend continues, she may well have her chance.

Love Reese Witherspoon too. And I'd love for Leo to finally get his Oscar. He has really grown since Titanic.

ITA about Leo, but I don't think he will get it. :(

I look for Whittark(sp) to win

Another no brainer win but he deserved it

Ryan Gosling has time and will get his shot again

Aww, poor Forest Whittiker is shocked. He seems like a great guy.

And I give props to DiCaprio and Gosling for their standing ovations. Way to be good sports. :thumbsup2

I haven't seen most of these movies. I feel so out of it. I have been adding stuff to my netflix queue all night.

Whitaker had a strong performance, but it would have been nice for O'Toole to get it, even if it would have been more of a recognition of his career. I didn't like DeCaprio in The Departed, sorry!

Awww, I feel bad for Peter O'Toole. Tis was his last chance to win. He should have gotten one for Lawrence of Arabia.

Ah!! Check out the presenters for directing!! Hmmm is that a lead in or what? :rotfl:

YES! After I saw that film, I couldn't get his performance out of my mind for almost two weeks!
