Osbourne Lights NOT showing this year

For those of you that are going at Christmas this year, I just read on another board that they are not showing the lights this year, as they are making way for an Auto stunt show in that area. The Osbourne lights will return in 2004 on NY street.

No, I can't believe it! I am so sad We are going this december and were so looking forward to them. ) Maybe they will move them to a different part if this is possible. I hope so.

According to what I read, someone spoke to the Osbourne's themselves and said this year is out and they will do them again in 2004.

If true, this is very depressing!

It's one of the highlights of our December trips.

I haven't seen anything official where they canceled them yet. Hope they aren't because I always enjoy seeing them.

I know my DH will not be too happy to hear that the lights won't be up this year. We always go to the OFSoL. That is one of the highlights of our trip. I remember the first year we went to see them.

We had dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre and when we came out of the restaurant, the lights were on and it was snowing on NY Street. It made the whole trip so magical. My daughter and her best friend thought it was great.

I too will be disappointed if they don't have them.

Nothing official...I am the one who spoke with Jennigs Osborne and he let me know that they won't be there this year due to the rehab of Residential Street and New York Street. They will be back next year on New York Street.

Hi Samirella! We must've followed each other from one board to the other! Even though this doesn't affect me, thanks for letting us know that news on the "other" board.

I would be sooooo disappointed if we were going in December this year. We're going in September instead of our usual December trip. The lights were one of the main reasons I hated not doing the Dec. trip!

This is so sad. My entire family is going the second week of December and we have a long standing tradition of going out to look at Christmas lights. The rest of the family has not seen the OFSoL and this was going to be a highlight of our trip. So sad .

Well, we had toyed with the idea of trying to make it back there in December but now it looks like we'll shoot for sometime in 2004. If I'm going to knock myself out to get there for the holiday festivities ---I want all of it!! Those lights are a HUGE draw for December!

This is still just a rumor. It is also a rumor that the auto stunt show is going into MGM. Plus there is a third rumor about all of this! The third rumor is that the stunt show is going into to the Hunchback area and not Residental St.. I just can't believe WDW would do away with Osbourn lights!
