Osborne Light's Merry and Bright Dessert Party and Dinner reception?

I want to go but Nov 6 is sold out. I forgot to make the ressies in the morning before work and by the time I got home Nov 6 was already sold out. I was going to do it bc my hubby does not do well in crowds. He would much prefer to sit and look (and drink!) from a distance. Plus, the blanket would be nice! The cost is the only part keeping me from being too sad that it is sold out. I keep looking though.....

If it's in the same place it has been in the past, you can easily sit in the same area (obviously not within the gated area) and not be crowded. Many people like to be directly under the lights and all crammed in. This leaves the outer area, nearby the dessert party area, a lot less crowded.

This is where we like to sit and view the lights. Next to the dessert party area and bathrooms. Being that the area is a lot less crowded, I find the dessert party to be a waste of money. You can sit and relax in the same area, go buy you're own food and save money. The dessert area isn't like that of Star Wars weekend or the like where if you're not doing the roped off area you have to arrive 1-2 hours prior to get the same view.

We're going on Christmas. It's expensive, but sounded like the ultimate way to end Christmas Day at Disney. Really looking forward to it.

Really really curious as to what the blanket and shadowbox look like and if they are specific to the Osborne Lights. That would make it worth it just for the souvenir in my opinion but then again, we love and will sorely miss the lights. I guess we just wait and see what it looks like after the first party.

Following this thread, I'd love to hear from someone who's done this and what the blanket looks like =)

I think it starts November 6. We can't wait to hear the reviews. Purchased tickets for November 20.

We are going on Nov. 29 - our first evening! I'm excited for reviews and photos!

We are going over our trip from in December. I can't remember what time, but we got a discount because we had reservations for the Wishes dessert party, but they oversold it. They wanted to reschedule us, but we opted for this, so we got it for the same price as the Wishes dessert party and also got FP+ for Wishes on the night we were supposed to do the party. I would say we made out ahead on this.

We're going on Thanksgiving and are looking forward to it very much.

we have done this on christmas night and it is one of the two PERFECT things in my opinion to do on a Christmas day at Disney!!!.....the other being Candlelight Processional

so my reservation is for 6 pm, but we can show up whenever during the lights? That's how I interpreted that reservation details.

I saw this, but my reservation is for 6pm on Dec 25, and the website says it doesn't start until 8:30. Maybe I can enter at 6, but no desserts until 8:30? I'll figure it all out later. There were plenty of reservations for Dec 25. That's what makes me worried they're having 2 shifts, early and late.

We will be at the Dinner Party on January 3rd.

Take this with a liberal salting due to the source, but the cast member I spoke with about the shadowbox seemed to be under the impression that it will contain one of the actual lightbulbs from the spectacle. If I recall correctly, they recently replaced the bulbs with LED lights so I am wondering if it is one of the old bulbs that got replaced.
