I have never been to WDW during the Christmas holiday season, so trying to plan is becoming a challenge. I was under the assumption that Osbourne lights is just something that I would walk through while walking through MGM. Is that incorrect? Is it something that I have to wait on line for/plan? I am planning on being in MGM on Saturday 11/26 and would also like to see Fantasmic because it is my favorite night time show. Can all of you disers help me out with my questions?

While I have all of your attention, I am also planning on seeing the candle light processional on 11/25. Are there any tips you can give me on planning that into my schedule?

TIA

It starts right after star tours its back in the section that looks like a city. You walk through it at night. It is included in your park admission. It is really worth seeing me and my family really enjoyed it. P.S. if it is chilly at night dont sit in the front row of fantasmic you will get wet. I learned that one the hard way lol.

They turn the lights on around 6:00pm. They are usually on after Fantasmic for about 30 to 60 minutes after park closing. There usually is a crowd gathered before 6:00 so it can be wall to wall people when it opens. I like to wait until later.

we waited in a crowd before they actually turned the lights on but once they did it was a walk through. Take your time, it's beautiful! We walked slowly along the edge of the street so we didn't hold up a lot of people. Take your time and stop to see the streetmosphere charactors! they were so funny! One guy was set up at a christmass tree farm and he was asking any of us walking by if we needed a tree so i gently :rolleyes1 pushed my son forward, well i was l.m.a.o.! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: It was so funny! The highlight of our trip! My kids still talk about how DS still owes $4,789 for the christmass tree he bought at MGM!

RE: Candlelight Processional...get there early! We put it off 2 nights because the kids were tired and on our last night we went and couldn't get in. We were so disappointed. You can make a dinner package reservation and get in that way too. Have fun for us too, we won't make it back this year.

Oh and if you could go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at MK. That was really nice too!

Oh, and go to the different hotels and see the beautiful decorations! I NEED TO GO BACK!

Lights are already going up in MGM! I saw pics of it and it looks amazing!

You can walk through the Osborne Lights anytime you want without waiting in line. It will probably be real crowded when they first turn them on. Last year, we saw Fantasmic then we walked over & saw the lights. They are beautiful--not to be missed!!

You might plan to see the Osborne lights after the lighting because it's pretty crowded. Don't know how it would be after Fantasmic -- that's quite a group of people, but all of them probably might not be staying to see the lights.

The CP has become very popular. If you plan to get the dinner package, book it early to get your choice of the popular restaurants (ie, LeCellere [sp]). I saw some of the dinner package people lining up in that line at least 45 minutes early! You don't get assigned seats, but are supposed to get a seat somewhere in the theatre.

If you're not getting the dinner package, line up in the stand-by line an hour early. Depending on the date/time, there may be few or no seats available to those who didn't get the CP dinner package, so you want to be at the front of the line.

We did the dinner package 7 years ago and stood in line ~ 25 minutes before the performance and sat in the 8th row. Last year, I didn't want to make DH sit through it again, so I just sat on one of the brick planters in front of the American Adventure. I really couldn't see the narrator, but could hear perfectly well. Since I'd seen it before, I was satisfied with this.
