One of my favorite things to do this time of year is visit the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. My family has been visiting since the very first year it was presented on Residential Street in the park. This beautiful light display has come a long way from the early days. You can view the lights from November 7, 2014 through January 4, 2015. The lights are on from dusk until park closing.

I really, really enjoy these posts. It isn't the same as being there but close enough, for now.

I'm quite interested to see what they do next Christmas. Wouldn't it be nice if the Osborne lights could be put on the walkway from Future World to World Showcase. :rolleyes1

Thank you for your blog Kathy, I always enjoy your posts and seeing/listening to you on the podcast! We love the Osborne lights and have made this a family tradition every year when we visit over the holidays. Our favorite activity is also searching for the purple cat, followed by counting 'hidden' Mickeys while sampling the holiday goodies offered by street vendors.

Strolling among the streets of New York and taking in all the quaint shop windows and city buildings decorated with the finest of bygone holiday splendor fills us with a warm satisfying nostalgia. Drinking hot cocoa, eating gingerbread, listening to the sounds of Christmas while taking in the magical spectacle of a zillion colorful lights and imagining that the snow that gently and serenely falls is real, transports us to a time long gone and never fails to bring tears of pure joy!

I am worried about the future of this gem as the streets of New York lend the atmosphere and backdrop that make this experience what it is and no other venue that I can think of in WDW would be comparable! I was so dismayed when the 'Lights of Winter' were removed from EPCOT and am wondering if this treasure at the Studios will also vanish into obscurity?
