Orphan sock question...

it depends on the sock. if it is just one of my regular black or white ones, i'll just toss it after a few days. if it's a patterned sock that i really like, i'll hold onto it for awhile.

And how many of you have an orphan sock problem because your family members roll up their socks into balls when they take them off and THROW them at other family members?!?!

I swear, my husband and kids get into "sock wars" nearly every single night before bed! So, I find socks almost EVERYWHERE in the house . . . under couches, tables, beds, tvs, etc. (I did draw the line at throwing dirty socks in the kitchen, so we do get some relief).

Once a week, I send everyone off on a sock hunt to round up the strays!

Family . . . gotta love 'em.

I also have a nearly-full basket of orphan socks...and just when I think maybe I should get rid of them I will find a long-lost mate. My dd's LOVE socks and have tons of every color. Especially patterned pink and purple ones. Only they are all DIFFERENT shades of pink and purple, even the solid ones. I have tons of those colors in my orphan basket, but none are the same shade. I guess when they outgrow that size I can throw them out without guilt - LOL

Making sock puppets sounds like a good idea - maybe we'll do that duing Spring Break next week :)

I also subscribe to the theory that socks are the larval form of wire coat hangers :teeth:

Laurie :)

P&PD for the lost one. I will light a candle for its swift return.

:D

We could always round up all the Orphan Socks and put them on a wagon train to the west.......
and let them have a fresh start in a new life....
