Hi all.

Booked my 1st WDW trip over the weekend, and I am already planning and reading up on websites, books and other suggestions (Touring Plans being a great suggestion!)

But, I have had a quick look around at excursions, and I would love to visit Discovery Cove!

Wondering if anyone knows about transportation to Discovery Cove? We are staying on site (CBR) and as it is our first trip have decided against renting a car, but are there buses close by that head to Discovery Cove or go in that direction?

Also, I have found tickets on the attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk website which are cheaper than the prices offered by Virgin Holidays (who I am booked with). Has anyone bought from this website? Or is there a recommended website for attraction tickets?

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

Hi

Attraction tickets direct are fine, we have used them before :) attractiontix may be cheaper though as you can get cash back if you're registered with the right website!

As for getting to DC, without a car I would just get a cab. It's not horrendous money and its really convenient. The cabs will be waiting right outside the lobby.

Enjoy CBR, it's lovely!

Definitely do a taxi to DC. Yes there are ways to do it on public transport but personally that just sounds like such a hassle to me. It's a great day out :)

you can do it by bus very easily but as DC isn't that far away it won't cost you too much by taxi. If you do want to do the bus then you catch the bus from CBR to the Market Place at DTD and walk out of the Market place at the exit next to the Toy shop. Cross over the road to the Hilton Hotel and turn right and the bus stop for the 50 lynx is right there. This will take you to SeaWorld where you get off and walk across the carpark (not far) and you can get free transport to DC, which basically is across the other side of the park. That sounds like a long way but it isn't very far and doesn't take very long. Its also very cheap to do.

Personally I would go by bus but as its your first time then I would go by taxi so that you can really make the most of your day there.

It is completely possible by bus but you'll be much better served getting a taxi. When we went to DC last year, we learned that it pays to get there early and messing around with multiple buses will just hold you up.

If you do plan to visit Discovery Cove, then a taxi would be the best way to get there. We have visited twice, and on both occasions have arrived around 07:40 for check-in and get a mid-morning dolphin swim. Reason for this is as we usually go in August, there is a good chance of storms mid to late afternoon, so at least we will have had our swim done should there be any delays tot he swim times.

To get to DC using the bus would mean you leaving quite early to get over to the Transportation and Ticketing Center (on WDW bus), then Lynx 50 to Seaworld, where I'm fairly sure you can phone for transportation to DC.
