Orlando Stroller Rentals or Kingdom Strollers

We think we have decided to not bring our large jogger for our almost 5 year old and just rent when we get there, even though we are driving it takes up so much space in the rental car and there are other things we would rather take in that space, and will be so large on the buses and trams.

So which company is better? And how are the City models when folded, still large or pretty compact? And how is the parent console, will it hold drinks without spilling?

I would recommend discount stroller rentals. They were less expensive than either of the two you mentioned and their product and service were exceptional. I only have experience with the City Mini, it folds very flat, very easily and is very light, but it is still the same width when folded, so it's not compact in that regard.

Edited to add about the parent console. I was actually an owner of the City Mini for my twins for 3 years (and loved it). I had the baby jogger parent console and was very happy with it. As it has one spot for a cup holder and then another pocket or two for other stuff, I found it very stable, much more stable than some of the other single cup holders. It won't hold more than one cup but for a single cup, it was great.

We have done the City Mini via Orlando Stroller Rental too. We liked it okay. I think the cup holder was a little tipsy, but that may have been if you put two drinks in it. The convenience was great, esp. since we had a long walk within the hotel (if you rent from WDW, you wouldn't have that).
Does your child still nap in the stroller? If so, go for the Orlando Stroller rental, as the WDW ones don't recline. We have a Cybex that we take: umbrella so we can sit with it folded up between our knees on the bus or stand easily with it, a basket for our bag of kid stuff/jackets, reclines for my still-napping kid. (Even if your child doesn't nap regularly, they might after a full day of fun!)
Best wishes for your trip!

Why is it that EVERY single person who has ever mentioned Discount Stroller Rental has less than 10 posts on this site? Has anyone else noticed that?

We will not be using discount stroller rentals, they are more expensive and I have not heard anything good about them, whereas the other 2 have great reputations. We also will not be renting from WDW--seats are too hard, no storage or cup holders, can't take them back to our resort and way expensive.

She does still nap, everyday at preschool and sometimes on weekends, and we want at least a comfortable one, if not reclining, so she can if she happens to fall asleep on us. I am worried about the cup holder, it is a requirement for us on a stroller (the other being storage basket) and from the pictures they look floppy.

I may go in search of a used cybex, it sounds like everything we need.

Why, what's wrong with DSR? I'm genuinely curious because although I may only have a few posts on this board, I'm just a regular old mom with young kids who just recently made our first trip to WDW (hence the low number of posts). Would I rent from them if they were more expensive? Definitely not. All I can say is that for my first trip to WDW I priced out Orlando stroller rentals, Kingdom strollers, Babies R Us and DSR. DSR was cheaper by about $30. When we arrived at our resort, a brand new City Mini was there waiting for us. When we left, it was picked up. We're going again in October and once again I priced out all the companies. DSR was once again the cheapest, we had a previous great experience with them, why wouldn't I use them again?! Sorry if you think I'm a troll hawking DSR, but I'm not, I'm just a normal person who went to WDW and had a good experience with a company there. I know Orlando stroller rentals sponsors this board, but that doesn't make me want to pay more for the same product when I've had a great experience with their cheaper competitor. Sorry if that offends.

I've used both OSR and Kingdom Strollers on past trips. Honestly, they offer pretty much the exact same product (Baby Joggers) and the exact same customer service. The only difference is price. They were both wonderful to work with, the strollers were both equally clean. But Kingdom Strollers is cheaper, particularly when you factor in the included rain cover and cooler, so that's why they'll get my business in the future. I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I will never go with Discount Stroller Rentals because of the shady practices that seem to surround them. The only reccs they seem to get come from people with almost no posting history on here. I'm sure they're just trying to get their reputation out there via social media, but they should be honest about it.

If you really don't believe me that I'm just a regular person who doesn't work for DSR, I guess there isn't anything I can say that will convince you. I just tried to do a google search to see if I could find out what the shady practices are, but couldn't find anything. So, please, let me into the secret. FWIW, I've also recommended DSR on another chat board that has a Disney Thread. However, over there I have a long, long posting history (in threads other than the Disney one, as I said I'm new to Disney). A read of my posts there will make it pretty clear I'm just a boring old SAHM, not a DSR employee on the sly. But, whatever, I was happy with them and couldn't find any evidence of shady practices on google and I'm not getting the info here because I'm suspected of being an employee, so eh.

Question about the strollers. Would they work for my almost 5 year old who is 48" tall.In other words would she be comfy in them? Was thinking of renting from OSC

You know, everyone has to start somewhere when it comes to posting on these boards Just because someone doesn't have what you consider a required number of posts to be legitimate, doesn't mean they are a troll. Get over yourselves. You are being vey rude to someone who simply offered their experience with a different company. Maybe YOU work for Orlando Stroller or Kingdom Stroller which is why you are pushing them. Of course you are under the 500 post count which means you are probably a troll as well...:rolleyes2

Better not listen to anything BettyLG has to say as she only have FOUR posts. She just surely work for Orlando Stroller Rental.

I used Kingdom Strollers on our last trip based on a referral and discount from my travel agent. I loved them. I emailed them to add on a day to our rental when our flights changed and received confirmation within a few minutes of hitting send. I also liked that I could order a case of water to be delivered w/ the stroller. That was the only thing I was looking to have a delivered food wise so being able to add it to my stroller rental was a perfect match =) I will be using them again in October. Also, like a previous poster said, we got a rain cover and cooler free of charge with the rental. Cooler was used daily for said water and the rain cover came in handy as Hurrican Sandy passed by and threw lots of rain showers our way.

Well, thank you Ginger, a voice of reason.

Kaylyyn, wow, that's a tall 4 yo! Last fall my almost 6 yo rode a little bit in that shady City mini and she was about 48 inches and she fit fine. She had to slide down a little bit but didn't complain about not being comfy.

I know it's absolutely possible for it to be a complete coincidence that someone could make a post about DSR when they are a new member. I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed that every time DSR is mentioned, it is by a brand new member. I don't think the people are employees, never said that at all.

I don't think you work for them. I think it's a weird thing that every member who talks about them are always new. Honestly, I think people join the boards and find better rental places, that's why older members never talk about them. There are a lot of shady things about them. Rumors that they rent from other places to supplement their stock, that they buy and return strollers from Babies-R-Us in order to supplement their stock...Plus, they really are not the cheapest, and there are negatives about their customer service.

We use kingdom and have always been happy!!

We do the double city mini. Last year my boys were 7,5 and 8 months. He funniest part was 2 older kids spent more time in it then the baby!! Haha

I truly went back n forth between getting the double Bc my older boys haven't used a stroller in years. But it was the best thing I did!!

It came with a free parent console, rain cover and cooler bag:)

We used Kingdom Stroller last year. They were great, very helpful and easy to work with. We'll use them again this year too!

Well, I guess it's possible that they're not cheaper for everyone but for both my trips they came out cheaper than anyone else I looked at, including the big names. So all I can comment on is my experience and for n=2 they were cheaper both times, for all aspects of the rental, the stroller itself, the insurance, the buggy board and the free accessories. As far as their customer service, my experience was excellent, for n=1.

As for renting inventory from other rental companies, I fail to find that shady. It benefits both DSR and the other companies they rent from. The other companies get to make some money from unused inventory. If other companies thought it was shady they wouldn't rent their equipment to DSR, they would quite simply say no. The fact the other companies do it tells me it isn't shady at all!

I would also think if DSR was a chronic returner of strollers to BRU, BRU would have noted it and stop taking the returns. BRU isn't stupid, they can look after themselves.

We've used magic strollers and kingdom strollers and both are basically the same strollers. We had good experiences with both companies. I'd go with whatever one is cheapest. Have fun!
