Orlando Smackdown: Dis vs. Uni. Ch.16 Japan Hates me, Just Hates me 7-13

Okay, okay Nebo, so I took a little creative license with how often I thought about you yesterday. It's similar to what you do with sentence structure, spelling, and all other elements of the English language. ;)

I really thought of you 999,999 times.

I was afraid that you would experience a lot of soreness today. I really hope that gets better for you soon. I will be glad to send you some ramen noodles and macaroni and cheese. For you, I will even splurge and buy the little containers of Velveeta mac and cheese instead of the Kraft cheese "sand" option. The Kraft variety tastes fine, but you deserve Velveeta after what you have been through. Yeesh, I really hope and pray you have some non-drama soon!

My worst non cleaning dental experience was my first at the age of 6. I had a tooth pulled and because my mouth was numb, I couldn't feel that I was biting my tongue. It was pretty bad, I had gauze for the hole in my gum and much more gauze for the wound on my tongue. I put a very literal twist on that whole "bite your tongue" phrase. :rolleyes2

I can't beleive I missed our anniversary!!!! yesterday ,k friday, jan 25 was 2 years smoke free!!!!

yay! I am so proud of us!!! and so happy for us!!! I never really imagined we would do it. I pictured us being smokers for the rest of our lives. I will NEVER go back!!! (we can't anyway, we can only afford ne or the other, smoking, or trips to disney!)

Congratulations Nebo and Smidgy! Two years is a terrific milestone! :thumbsup2

no worry, dee. I made sure he was taken care of. I made sure he had macaroni salad (his favorite), and cottage cheese,(which he loves) and apple sauce. plenty of ramen soup, as well as various others.

made sure I bought plenty of pudding snacks (both choc. and vanilla) and bought his favorite, French vanilla Ice cream. I made him mac and cheese.( he loves the Kraft mac and cheese)

I put some noodly hamburger helper in a bowl for him to heat up, and made sure thatthat, with all the other
"easy to chew" stuff was towards the front of the fridge, where he could see it easily. I put the ramen soup package in a bowl, with the spoon, out for him, so he woudn't have to search for it, a s well as a bowl for the ice cream, with a spoon and the ice cream scoop, and chocolate syrup,to make it very easy for him. I also offerred to make him scrambled eggs before I left.
wish I could have stayed home with him to help him out, but, alas I had to work last night. and tonight. but tomorrow I will make another easy to eat dish for him, spaghetti.

You are a great person and wife - another reason Nebo married you twice !

Take care.

Yes,, she's a Martha Florence Nightingale Stewart.

Smidgy, all of these meals sound great to me! You are so sweet and thoughtful in your care of Nebo. I know where to visit if I ever need to be taken care of! :thumbsup2

Oldest DD loves ramen noodles, I keep a supply of them handy. I've thought about investigating stock options for them!

And don't worry too much about having to work while he's recovering. You did so much by leaving the food so handy for him. I'm sure he would rather your days off be for Disney trips!

I came here for a smile and once again you delivered. My day yesterday was I don't even have the words. A little boy had to be taken by ambulance from my classroom.

At the end of the day he had a seizure. One of those sit and stare kinds. I was trying to talk with him and his eyes were moving and lips were moving but he wasn't being responsive. Long story short he had a history but we were not told nor did parents list his condition on his emergency card.

SMH!

All I know he is stable and the hospital kept him over night for observation.

I cant stop replaying those last 20 minutes of the day.

Sidenote: hey hockey fans I have a friend whose son plays for the pros but in their minor leagues. He was just picked up by Scotland to play overseas; what does that mean for his career and how does that help him?

Wow! Rough day. Glad the little gaffer's gonna be okay. Ya know what you should do? Take a vacation! Maybe go to Disney! Yeah! That's it! How about in a couple of weeks?

Uh oh, I feel a Dr. Frankenstein schtick coming on.
Either that or the birth of another Kardashian!

Ugh! Gack! Anything but that!

"AS I sit here broken hearted, tried to defecate and only expelled some intestinal gas instead"
"but think of the man who took the chance,,, tried to expell some intestinal inner pressures and and created an unwanted fecal presence in side his trousers instead. "

Yeah, that's how I remembered it.

My first thought was,, "who goes to the airport to buy life insurance? DOH!

:rotfl: Yup!

Was that were you had this person on the phone at your complete mercy begging you to no hang up on them again when they are rude?
Yes,,, I remember,,,,
everything,,,, mbwahaha

Yes it was.
Ya know... you're kinda scary.

On so many levels.

You're saying she goes on the stringer with the other bullheads? I MEAN Blue Gills,,,yeah, blue gills,,, oh, crappie,, I did it again, now she'll go back to that piano tuna again, but even though I lobster before, I flounder and I can do it again, so I'm not goiing to go into a state of shark. Ok, time to cut the carp.

Oh my cod. That was eely bad. I sea what you're trying to do but I'm not going to take the bait.

If he's still only 19 or 20,,, I'd say it's an excellent career move for him,,,many players come from over there.

I don't know for sure whether it's an excellent move or not, but my gut tells me that it would be.

Ladies and gentlemen (and I use the latter nomenclature loosely)

I'm sorry, did you just say you were loose?

Starting about 5 days in.... Low fever (attributed to the existing infection), red face and swollen lip (attributed to the steam inhaler that was supposed to help the congestion and cough), bit of a rash around lip and upper chest (attributed to Vicks vapo-rub), worse cough and difficulty breathing (attributed to weak lungs and the respiratory infection just not getting better), difficulty sleeping (attributed to the continuous coughing fits and congestion that would not go away), until finally the rash showed up all over.

Wow! Glad you're on the mend now.

a two foot hunk of gauze sticking out of my mouth. (yes,, I know it was only one foot yesterday,,, in five years from now it will be 6 foot).

I had a hunk of gauze that was this big.

I can't beleive I missed our anniversary!!!! yesterday ,k friday, jan 25 was 2 years smoke free!!!!

Hey! That's great you guys. Way to go! :goodvibes

Talk about adding insult to injury!

ummm.... could you come over to my house next?

Good news, I'm finally working on a new chapter again.
Wish I could remember what it was about though.

Chapter? Oh, I remember. You were talking about grocery stores and your inability to do simple math.

Chapter? Oh, I remember. You were talking about grocery stores and your inability to do simple math.

Oh yes, thank you for reminding me of my stupidity. You rank right up there with the voice in my car that says,,,"The door is ajar,,, the door is ajar."
Yes,,, that is helpfull also..

The dentist took your tooth - not your mind ?

Whoa, even you,, an underhanded, behind the back stab you don't see coming?
Well done! Keep it up!

I thought the door was a door? It's a jar? That's just... odd.

I saw that. Brought a tear to my eye.

Yeah baby,, I say we pick up a carton and celebrate!

:headache:Smidgy, please, allow me. . . ummmm NO!

Computer: $200; Internet access: $19.95/mo.; Busting a gut laughing and the antics of Nebo and Ponzi: PRICELESS!!!

Good news, I'm finally working on a new chapter again.
Wish I could remember what it was about though.

You were going to write about how the Thumper's were the most wonderful people you ever met, and how you wish you could go on vacation with them again.

No? That wasn't it? Well it was worth a try.

Congratulations to you and Smidgy on being smoke free for 2 yrs. Glad to see you're feeling better as well.

And he blushes at the attention. :flower3:

I think its great and just for that you and Diane need to bump your April trip to February so it overlaps with mine.:cheer2:

Wait.. What? Whoa.. I'm going at the same time! Where are you (Mony) staying?

Yes, I am still woefully behind, but I'll get there. I just keep reading!

So, gonna go finish up and see if we can't get the Little Red Caboose back on the track, otherwise, Ponzi and I will just carp at each other, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.

Back to work, back to work. Work, work work.

By the way, how come I keep getting calls asking me if I'd like a lower interest rate when my interest in the calls couldn't possibly rate any lower?

And Smidgy's not too happy with me,,, right before my tooth surgery,, I took my face off.
She doesn't like me without my face,, especially the one that's left with no hair on it..Sorry,,, I didn't want this stupid bushy thing in the way for the surgeon. I start out going for the Sam Elliott look, and end up like Wilfred Brimley. not good,, so I made it go aaway.

Feels funny now when I'm outside in the cold and my nose runs right into my mouth. I just said that out loud, didn't I?

So far, Uni is kicking the gluteus maximus of Disney, with a score of 5 to 2, let's see now if we have any good comparisons while visiting Islands of Adventure.

Being resort guests, we get in an hour early for Potterville, and the mob scene I expected wasn't there.
But i will definately admit,,, the area is well done and impressive, wish I had taken more pictures now.

You enter into Hogsmeade, with the school in the background, and it can almost take your breath awaay.
I don't think Disney could have done this land better,, much to see all around you,,, and stuff you can easily pass up if you're in a hurry. In glass display in a front shop window facing the street are a couple of screaming mandrakes, in another store don't get your fingers too close to the Book of Monsters, and the chocolate frogs and butterbeers are not cheap either, but it's hard to not grab a pack of Every Flavor Bertie's Botts,,, even if you do pick out the vomit.

100_2213.jpg

We then worked our way inside the school to Forbidden Journey before it got crowded.
I have to tell you, I am the worst person to try and critique this entire area,,, I could not see squat inside.
It was worse than POTC, the difference is that there's stuff going on, and Harry And Dubledore and the rest of them talking to you. Even if the ride is walk on,, it will stil take you 15 minutes to work your way back there to the boarding area.

Our plan is for me to ride it,,, and then be honest in my asessment as to whether she can ride it,,, then if yes,, do it again.

At the boarding stage,, once again, Diane relinquishes me to a young girl cast member, telling her,, "He can't see, he needs help getting to the car" with promises that all will be ok.

I then narrowly avoided a major fall when she pulled me onto an unknown by Smidgy or me, moving walkway running parallel to the cars. Boy, when you aren't expecting that,,,, it get's your attention.

She turned to me; "What, you didn't see that?"

"grrr"

The ride itself is an incredible simulator on a moving track, with movie type screens popping up surrounding you as you basically fly through the set pieces.

And i'm sure they would have been really cool if I could have seen them. But the car itself was incredible,,, the range of motion it had did just about everything but turn you completely upside down, but I could tell this ride had the potential to be something really special if I could see it,, and I couldn't wait to try to do it at night.

When I met Smidgy at the exit,,, I told her that if I gave the GO sign to ride it,,, she'd never talk to me again, she breathed a sigh of relief

Afterward, we then waited in linie for Olivander's Wand Shop,,, a short show goes on almost continuously in there.
Wish I could tell you what it was though,,,,oh, I know what it was,,, it was pitch black, that's what it was.
Never did see the wand maker,, but I heard him.
And one guy was chosen from the group to let the "wand choose the owner". Maybe Smidgy can tell you more about what it was that I saw but didn't.

As for FJ,,, no, no points can be awarded here,,, Disney has nothing at all similar to make a comparison at all.

100_2214.jpg

100_2215.jpg

From there it was over to the Dragon Challenge,,, and I'm getting a bit tired of being led by kids trying to inflict bodily harm on me. But it's been a long time since I rode this and I've gotten a taste for coasters again. And again, no points awarded for there's no comparison.
We then did, what used to be the Flying Unicorn,, but is now the Hippogriff,,, which is a basic entry level coaster that lasts lwss than a minute and a half..

This may not be a fair comparison,,, but it's a step up from the Barnstormer at Disney,,,, sorry,,, Uni- 6 Dis-2.
The walkway here also brings you past Hagrid's Hut,,,which looked pretty cool,,, but I'm surprised it's so well hidden.

Then we moved back into Suess land, it is so festive here, and the main gates were now open for everybody to charge to Potterville, and rode the High in the Sky trolley, which is on it's 3 named change I think now.
It's a cute ride though Seuss land,,, but way too short, not worth getting comfortable even,,, but I did get a couple of shots from up here.

100_2216.jpg

100_2218.jpg

100_2219.jpg

But Disney wins this round,,, The People Mover or TTA beats this on all levels, most notably, duration, 6-3 now.

It was now time for what I new was going to be a hard call, Winnie the Pooh against the Cat in the Hat, two very similar type indoor dark rides.
We were the only ones on it this early,, and I asked the attendant how long the ride lasted.

She told me 4 minutes and 38 seconds.
I told her I wanted something more specific,, not just a round figure number.

She was flustered for a moment,, then just stared at me.

The Cat is a little bit longer,, but Pooh has the interactive waiting line. Tough call,,, tough call. I'm basing my decision on what I have more fun on,,,,so the winner is,,,

THE CAT IN THE HAT!
U 7 D-3.

Oh boy, it's gonna be parking lot views for a long time now at Disney.

Do I dare say that the charm of the Dr. Suess Carousel and intricasies of the horses and ride characters blows away Prince Charming Carousel in Fanatasyland? 8-3

Do I also dare say that Next to Cat in the Hat is One Fish TWo Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,,,, which is just like Aladdin's Flying Carpets,,, only WAY mor fun trying it figure out the song to avoid getting squirted! Uni,9 Dis-3.

One thing we didn't do this trip was the stunt show in The Lost Continent,,, and we all know it's never a good thing to be incontinent,,, the Sinbad and his 7 Voyages Stunt show. There's a reason we missed it this time. It SUCKS!
Indy or the Lights, Motors, Action blow it away,,, this show is like watching a bunch of teenagers goof around.

SCORE FOR DISNEY,,, 9-4

So now that I've ticked all the Disney phobes off,,, saying goodnight now.
