I was wondering if anyone has ever flown into this airport before? If so, how far was it to get to disney. And if I can ask how you got from the airport to WDW. I know there are cars and limos etc.

thanks

We rented a car. It was fairly easy. The biggest drawback is that the rental companies are a little bit of a walk out from the airport. Not super far, just a little far if you arrive late and are tired like we were. There seemed to be some tolls that I remember as well. The drive itself was very easy, though.

It's a nice, small airport that is very easy to navigate in as well.

We like flying into Sanford even though it takes longer to get to Disney. We will rent a car and like the OP stated the rental cars are a short hike to get to.

If you do a search in the Transportation forum on "Sanford" you'll find a bunch of previous discussions about this.

I've flown into Sanford before (loved it!) and rented a car. Easy in and out of the airport and easy drive to WDW. It was nice having the car for the week too to get around the area. Allowed us to do some day trips to some other attractions that we normally wouldn't get to do.

If you don't want to pay tolls, you can follow the signs to I-4 and go south to Orlando/WDW.

We followed the voice in the box(GPS). I will remember that the next time :)

This trip we are doing Tampa and I have heard nothing but good things about that airport as well. Allegiant wasn't flying on our dates to Sanford this trip.

Tampa is a very nice airport. Don't listen to the voice in the box this time!! Just follow I-4 East.

Sometimes we call her something different than the voice in the box because of the roundabout ways she sometimes sends us... She is so bossy, too!

Sanford is great, rent a car and drive yourself to Disney. About a 45 minute drive but a very easy drive. Rental cars are just a tad higher than MCO. Rental counters just around the corner from the baggage claim area and cars across the street. Short walk. Best I remember the Alamo counter is a real hike from the airport, the others are very close.
