Orlando-Sanford airport & rental return

Hi everyone,

We are booked to fly Allegiant into SFB next month and was wondering about rental car returns. Our return flight out of SFB has us departing at 7:30 a.m. and we would need to return the car before that obviously. The onsite rental cars do not open up in time for us before we depart.

Has anyone done a drop-off before they open in the morning? Can it be done? I will put a call into the rental place we ultimately choose but was wondering if anyone else had this type of experience.

I believe they have a drop-box for rental keys. We were supposed to return our car at Sanford (National) at 6:30am, and the counters weren't going to be open. We were told to just drop the keys in the drop box, in the garage. Just be sure to note everything for yourself...rental return time, keep your gas receipt, write down the milage from the odometer. That way you're covered if there is any question.

I did call the location and they said it was 24 hour return location. But I appreciate your reminders about making sure all the receipts and paperwork is in order before you drop it off.
