Orlando outlets

Hi!
Can anyone give me an example of merchandise they have purchased at an outlet outside of WDW and mention prices? Did you think it was worth it? We would have to rent a car for a day to do the shopping since we fly and use Disney transportation. I am on the fence and would like to know how others' fared there.

The outlets in Orlando are just like the outlets found anyplace else. Pricing and merchandise just depends on the brand outlet you hit. Some are better deals than others - but if you are familiar with the brand, you'll know if the outlet price is good.

Um, when I hit outlets (in Orlando or here at home) I fare well at Ann Taylor outlets. Old Navy outlet sometimes has good deals. I found a great purse at the Coach outlet while in Orlando last. Banana Republic usually has good deals too as does White House Black Market. But only if you would normally wear those brands.

If you aren't familiar with outlet shopping, be aware that many brands are creating merchandise JUST for their outlet. Old Navy/Gap do this, as does Coach and many others.

Also be aware that retailers are offering good deals in the mall as well as outlet. Don't go expecting dirt cheap stuff - I can often find a better deal at the retail location than the outlet location. I outlet shop because I like to shop - not because I'm trying to find dirt cheap stuff. If I do, great, but it's fun for me to shop even if I leave empty handed.

I'm not sure I'd waste WDW touring time and money on a rental unless you're in the market for specific brand items you can't get at home. You can likely find the same outlet with the same merchandise withina couple hours of your hometown.
