I'm just wondering if anyone knows what the average, round about price for gas is in Orlando, or anywhere Florida for that matter. I live in NJ and right now regular gas is at $2.73 a gallon. Anyone know if it's more expensive in FL?
I just returned from Florida on 8/19 and I stayed in the Kissimmee area and the lowest price I saw was $2.82. I would say the average price was around $2.85 in that area.

yep, $2.73/gallon as of this morning!! it's been going down about $.02 a day and every day i drive by and it's down just that little bit, it makes me smile!! maybe there's an end in sight??
And DO NOT buy at the Chevron in Lake Buena Vista. I think they hope folks will assume it's cheaper then then at the Hess inside Disney property, but that place is a RIP OFF. Every time I have been there gas is AT LEAST 10 to 20 cents a gallon higher... If you follow the like posted just above you will see that this Chevron has the HIGHEST reported gas prices.
Just got back this weekend. I have noticed that Exxon, Mobil, and Chervon cost much more than the others. We drove past I-192 West of I-4. The gas price was $3.04 reg/unleaded. The hess station inside WDW compound was $2.88 on Saturday (maybe it's now cheaper) There is no need to drive outside for gas just to save another couple of pennies. Another observation was that the cheapest gas we seen along I-95 was at GA@ $2.65 reg/unleaded.
The Hess stations on property are generally about 5 cents less than surrounding prices. I always fill up when I am on site.... I will be filling up tomorrow morning after b-fast at Kona!
The gas prices at Chevron, 7-11 and Shell......all on SR535 north of I-4, are among the highest in Orlando. They count on gullible or desperate tourists for their business. (or European tourists who still think the price is a good deal compared to home). But as mentioned, the Hess stations located on Disney property are all good prices and comparable to what Hess is charging at their stations around Orlando. South of I-4 on SR535 are some other high priced stations but if you continue south just past the overpass of TOLL 417 there are three other stations with even better prices: Hess, Citgo & Wal-Mart (Murphy Oil).
I got gas today at the Hess Station near Boardwalk. Regular was $2.83. On the way home I priced at one station and it was $2.86 (I live 30 mine NE of WDW).
On a side note the Hess station at MK is closed for remodeling. I had not been to MK since earlier this month, so I was surprised to see it closed and under contsruction!
Wow what a bummer!
Up here in ohio gas has been coming down down down..... had to fill up after work this am, it was down to 2.55
Oh well, at least we wont be paying 3.00 or more... i hope not anyways... we leave in 5 days... sure hope it doesnt go up!
