Orlando on Holiday Programme, Monday 6th

I disliked the way the programme kept rubbing the nose in of the family who hadn't planned!

I agree planning is key (don't we all?) but I felt the programme was a bit "I told you so" to them - at the end of the day they had a fantastic time so that's all that counts, surely?

Off soapbox now :teeth:

Oh and yes I was shocked to see the little girl on someone's knee driving in the car!!!!!

It's a shame they only squeeze it in about 10 minutes, I could watch hours of it. I said to the girls that I could almost smell the water on Splash Mountain (the ride not our fellow UK diser - LOL) and I just wanted to be there.

Hope they do show more - I Want More !!!

mandymouse :earsgirl:

At least the 2nd family were converted and are going back for more :teeth:

LOL Mandymouse!

And Miffy, yes they looked like they had a fantastic time- did you notice how the families were in the "special" (dont know the proper name) area at the end of Mainstreet to make sure the characters give specific attention? THAT's a nice extra!!

I'm sooooo mad! I MISSED IT!

Corey's hair when I last saw it was highlighted blonde but that was a while back so it could be that he's now au natural ;)

I'm so totally gutted that I didn't see this, I hope they repeat it :(

I disliked the way the piece was done.

I thought the editing of Corey's answers to the interviewers question was appalling with him cut off mid sentence a couple of times.

They could have used the time to get some really good little tips across about how best to plan your time in order to get the most out of the parks. The sort of stuff that you don't realise until you have been once or twice but I feel that was totally missed.

It's always nice to see WDW in the telly but I felt it could have been done a lot better.

Rant over!

Alan.

I totally agree Miffy and Tron.

My family sat and watched it and all said at the same time that it wasn't a fair representation making the two families compete. For a start, the veterans had ten years worth of Magic Kingdom under their belt. The virgin family had never experienced it before and no way would you expect them to charge around and not slowly walk up Main Street to get that first view of the Castle.

Still, once I'd calmed down it did give a quick buzz to think it's only 8 more months till we'll be there again :D

One thing I miss with this type of programmes is that there's so much more than just the rides. It's all about how many rides can you do. I'm sure the first time family really enjoyed the wonder of it all seeing it for the first time! Although I am amazed that people can go to Orlando and not even look at a map of the parks before they get there!!! It isn''t as if you can't get them anywhere!

But it's great to see all of it again. And Kaylee, I agree, it was definitely OKW and not PO!!!

Molly was so excited and kept saying 'Been There!' Could have watched lots more of it
Jo

Splash is right though, they definitely said it was PO. I agree that it was OKW though :)

I checked the programme again and I still think it is OKW :) But I supposed they gave a price for a moderate resort like POR :)

I thought the Virgins were very happy with what they did, me and Sarah looked at each other and said the concept was a little silly, they could have had more of this Corey fella walking round offering his wisdom and lose the families. Tron and I exchanged messages very soon after the "girl on the knee" incident. I think that it may have been down to the fact they were already in the car park for the MK and the editing was done badly.

I watched this show when I got home yesterday luckily DH had taped it for me, I thought that it was an ok programme but they should have had the piece a little bit longer!

I thought it was a bit unfair on the new family as they would want to see all the characters and wander up Main Street taking it all in, I remember the first year that I went we just wandered round the parks mainly because we couldn't believe what we were seeing, it would have been a shame for them to rush around going on the big rides. once you have been a few times then you are more likely to rush becuase you know what things you can afford to miss out.
I just wish there were more programmes like this ok tv - well just Orlando / FLorida ones would do!! tee hee!
