Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in the downtown area (In the $150 range)? We are going to see Jimmy Buffet perform at the Amway/Waterhouse arena Feb 8. I have been looking around, but I don't really know the area.

We put a lot of people who come in to visit our corporate offices at either the Courtyard Marriott on Magnolia or the Embassy Suites Downtown. The Grand Bohemian is also downtown and is very, very nice.

Just a warning before you go:
The area around I-4 near Amway is torn up. Traffic is a nightmare and the one detour took us through the worst area I have ever been to in my life (and I grew up in Detroit). I do remember seeing a Marriott right near the Amway. You could walk to the concert from the hotel.

A week after our Orlando concert, we went to St. Pete's Forum. I had never been there. I actually wrote the city a letter to compliment them. Excellent signs, clean, safe area, great parking, tons of police that were actually helpful. It was a huge change from the Orlando area.

Have fun! Jimmy Buffet puts on an excellent show.
