*Note: I meant Universal Annual Pass, not Universal Flex Ticket

Can someone please explain the flex ticket? I just found out about this yesterday. I am planning on going to Universal for 5 days (staying on-site) and was also planning on going to Sea World one of these days. Is there any benefit to having one over the other? Unless there is a great room discount I would be getting the basic annual pass. Does the flex ticket allow park-to-park access? I would like the option of going to multiple parks each day. Thanks for any info you can provide.

The Flex Ticket is for unlimited admission to either five or six parks during a 14 day period. It does not give you any discounts at any of the parks. The AP will allow hotel discounts and disounts on food/merchandise at both Universal parks as well as free parking in the garage. The hotels are not owned by Universal so everyone has to pay the nightly parking fee at the hotels. If you are planning on coming back within the year, you would be money ahead to purchase the Preferred AP.

I am not sure if I will be able to go back within a year. As of now, I probably will be going to Universal in December 2013. If I purchase an annual pass, is it actually good for one year--up to December 2014? I read something about the benefits of the 2012 Annual Pass expiring on Dec. 31, 2012.

If I am only going to Universal and Sea World, do you think it pays to purchase the Flex ticket? The cost of each ticket to Sea World is $75 online. I was hoping for a room discount with the Annual Pass, but I checked the pricing for this December and it is not such a great discount. I would save more with the Stay More Save More discount. And for some reason, the cost of a club level room at the Hard Rock is more with an Annual Pass for this December. Although I am not sure whether I would want the club level, I am surprised that it costs more.

AP discounts come and go, and sometimes they have discounts that are better than the AP discount.

An AP goes a year from when you use it. They are NOT based on the calendar year.

However, the perks can change each calendar year. The perks that you get when you purchase your pass may expire Dec. 31 and a whole new set of perks comes up. They can change the rules each calendar year but your pass is good from first use for 365 days.

The discounts for December probably are not finalized yet.
