We have purchased the Orlando Entertainment book three times and usually find we get our moneys worth out of it (usually buy part way through the season when they start to sell off the books cheaper). We haven't purchased for our last couple of trips because we found that local coupon books are available for free on just about every street corner, gas station, liquor/grocery store and hotel lobby in the Orlando area for local restaurants, attractions etc. We have also found Groupon and TravelZoo to be a great source for discounted tickets to some of the lower tier area attractions, dinner theatres and restaurants.
The Entertainment Book is a nice idea if you are staying off-site and are planning on doing at least part of your vacation outside the Disney bubble.
If you order it ahead of time you can plan out how and when you can use some of the coupons
If you are spending most or all of your vacation inside the Disney bubble, The Book is a waste of money since you will have little of no opportunity to use it.
There are tons of $ off and BOGO deals at lots of local restaurants (fast food, casual and sit down...way to many to list). Some are for chains and some are for specific stores. The ones that say "all participating locations" can even be used when you get back home (some of these are Wendy's, Burger King, A&W, Quiznos, Popeys, DQ and Dunkin Donuts to name just a few. Some coupons are specific to certain locations only or for some of the local (one only) places
Typically there are coupons for one or 2 or the local grocery stores for $5 off a $50 purchase, similar coupons ($5-$20 off $xxx purchases)for use at big box stores like JC Penny, Macy's , Sears etc.
Travel discount coupons for car rentals (most agencies have codes and coupons), American Airlines and Southwest have coupons, several hotel chains have discounts, Hotel.com discounts, even Priceline has a discount coupon (current offer is $20 off a 3 day or longer Express Deal)
Discounts at movie theatres, bowling alleys, beauty salons, golf courses and all kinds of other stuff.
