Has anyone purchased an Orlando entertainment book for the discounts locally?
I have one for the Denver area and can get auto stuff out of it but was wondering
if anyone else has found it beneficial for meals and other activites?
Thanks, YO

COACH YO,

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU. DOES YOUR BOOK HAPPEN TO HAVE THE CODE FOR A COMPANY CALLED "COOKIES BY DESIGN". I'M NOT SURE IF YOU HAVE THAT STORE IN YOUR AREA BUT I HEARD THEY HAVE MICKEY & PALS COOKIES IN A GIFT BASKET THAT I WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE FOR THE HOLIDAYS.

THANKS

LAH

I purchased one for my trip we just got back from did not use it one time. and we were there 3 weeks. We didn't have a set plan on doing things and if we saw a restaurant that looked interesting we would just stop. I did look back and there were no discounts at any of the placed we chose to eat except for McD's. There are discount books and coupons everywhere down there.

you can also "join" on line for around $4 a month and print out coups. also go to citysearch and they have a lot of the offers and link to the online entertainment "book"
http://orlando.citysearch.com/ also www.restaurant.com has a few coupons for Orlando and you can get them cheaper on ebay (Has an ebay link on their site)

The Entertainment Book CAN save you $, but it depends on the length of your trip and what you plan to do. We (DH + I) saved over $230 on a 16 day trip using the discounts. However, I spent a lot of time making up our daily itinerary and hours on end going over all of the places in the book ahead of time. We used it for many meals and snacks, but also used it for dicounts on dinner shows, and mini golf. Of the 16 days, we were only in WDW parks for 6 days and did a lot of other Orlando area activities on the other 10. At the end of the trip, I tore out all of the national coupons, and left the book w/card on the front seat of the rental car when we returned it at the airport. Hopefully, someone found it, knew what it was, as used some of the remaining offers.
On our upcoming 12 day trip in May 2004, instead of the Entertainment Book, I decided to bid on restaurant.com offers on eBay and have won several. I think the savings will be greater per deal, since there is no wasteful purchase.

I couldn't agree more about www.restaurant.com. I use it all the time. Great prices for gift certificates. Have never had a problem with the certificates. This will definately save you some money, especially if you are not a finicky eater. If you are unsure of a restaurant, you may want to call your hotel beforehand and ask the front desk if they have ever heard of the restaurant. This way, if it is in a "bad area" you will know not to bid on the GC. And, typically, if you lose your bid, the restaurant will have a new auction in the next day or so. It seems www.restaurant.com recycles the same locations.

also if a rest. goes out of business before you use the voucher they notify you and give your money back...that happened to one I bid for and it was taken care of with a single email...great service !
