For anyone that is still interested in the subject.....
PetsHotel was wonderful....despite the drama that came about when they realized that they had forgotten to tell us that we needed Vet clearance for our two Chihuahuas with health issues. The vaccines for all 4 were fully documented, but the epilepsy and the heart problem, which we told them about at the time that we booked, because I had a ton of questions for them to make sure that the facility was the right place for them. However, at some point, the booking person did not make notes about the conditions of our pets and no one told me that we needed Vet clearance.
We were dropping the pets off at 5pm on a Tuesday night. We were on a plane at 8am the next morning for WDW. We arrived and were sitting on the DME bus when the phone rang. We had to swear upside down and backwards that we would not hold them responsible if Beanie died in their care. The Vet basically scared the crap out of them. We know that Beanie passes out when she runs, barks too much, or gets overly excited. Sometimes those pass outs turn into seizures. In some animals, those seizures can be enough stress on the pet to actually trigger a heart attack. We know that Beanie's time with us is limited. We decided a long time ago to love her while she is here and when she is gone, she will just be gone. There will be nothing that we can do. She doesn't require meds. The surgical option was only an option before she turned a year old and due to her petite size it was quite possible that the surgery would not be possible. The price was also prohibitively expensive.....$15,000 all together. Like I said, we will love her and spoil her until she is gone. So, with the pledge to not sue, we were allowed to leave the babies with PetsHotel.
Beanie had one pass out and small seizure during the stay and it was the last day that they were there. They were spoiled beyond belief. One caregiver spent 4 hours in their room howling/singing and playing with them.
I would use them again. If they will take Beanie again. Beanie has been steadily getting worse at a faster rate over the past year. I have no idea if she will even be alive when we make it back to WDW. I hope that she is, as long as she continues to have a good quality of life. So far, we have avoided the need for meds. Anyway, PetsHotel is a great place to board your doggies. I just wish there was one in the Orlando area. Maggie
