Question ?
We will be staying in Siesta Key in the winter and will be picking up our Daughter and family at the Orlando airport for a visit. We have always flown into and out of this airport, but have never picked up anyone there ? They will be flying in on Jetblue. Would like to meet them after they get off the tram from the plane at the other side of security. We think it is concourse A ?
What would be the easiest way to park and pick them up ?
Thanks for any help !

Park in the A side terminal parking area, some of which is on top of the rental car storage lots. Then enter the main terminal and follow the signs to "Gates 1-59".

If you were to stand across the open area lined with stores and facing the security area entrance the tram station exit corridors for arriving passengers are to the right and to the left of the security entrance. Your DD's family will be coming from the exit on the right. (You would want to stand closer to that passenger exit corridor.) You may not walk up the down staircase*, er, into the tram exit corridors, to watch the trams arrive.

There is a big neon "A" on the wall of the big open area not far from that exit corridor.

From driving in to driving out will be around 45 minutes to an hour if it works out exactly as you tried to time it. If the airport is still offering a half hour of free parking that is a scam. If you don't get out of the lot in half an hour the cost of the first half hour is built into the cost of the next half or whole hour.

The open concourse outside security corresponds to the area on a football field from the goal line to the 20 yard line. The A and B sides are the side grandstands. Security is the middle of the end zone. If you stood at the hash marks about at the 5 to 10 yard line and looked into the end zone that is roughly what facing the tram and security exit corridor is like.

* Arriving passengers come out on the same level past passengers waiting in the security lines, and go out past the ticket counters before going downstairs to the carousels or Magical Express.

If you have a Sunpass or Epass (not EZpass or Leeway) electronic toll device you can use the Express Pickup parking.
