We are leaving tomorrow morning for 4 days of relaxation in Orlando. It's just my wife and I. We are in our 50's and have been together over 30 years. We went to Disneyland on our first vacation ever.
Back then, Irlo Bronson Highway was the main drag. We got a package deal that was advertised in the Miami Herald travel section. There was no Internet in those days.
We never had kids, so we were able to make travel our number one priority, and over the years, we've visited Orlando more than any other place.
Not so much Disney anymore. The last ten times we went, we only went to the Disney parks once. It's either been the Hard Rock and the Universal parks or long weekends just relaxing at hotels like the Ritz, or the Waldorf.
So, I was surfing the Internet, with no plans of going to Orlando for Memorial Day weekend, and the rate of $126 a night for 4 nights at the Hilton Orlando on Destination Parkway shows up. I couldn't resist. We've stayed there twice previously and really liked it. It's a perfect place for two love birds to enjoy themselves. So I booked it.
We are leaving tomorrow and have no set plans. We are bringing our no expiration park hopper passes with us in case we want to use them.
