Origin of GKTW & the Podcast

I just listened to this week's show and heard the discussion of how GKTW and the podcast became united. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought it was the late Bob Varley's charity of choice? Wasn't he the one who introduced it?

My family has been buying GKTW Christmas cards since the early 90's.

Bob may have known about it then too, but I didn't know Bob or anyone on the podcast.

Bob became aware of GKTW through Disney World, however, it was not his charity of choice.I am an RN & work for hospice & both our mother's passed away under hospice care. That was our charity of choice. When Bob passed away, people sent donations to GKTW because it had been talked about on the pod cast. I, also, requested that people consider donations to Hospice Of The comforter, where I worked. I was amazed at the number of donations we received after that, some from people who had already donated to GKTW.
