Has anyone ever organized a Private Open Bar or have you been to one while Cruising? I've been on many Disney Cruise's and on my upcoming cruise, someone said they were interested in to doing an Open Bar. I've never heard of this. We currently have a Mixology Class list started and I know how that is formed and who needs to be contacted but haven't had much luck finding any information on Open Bars. Thanks in advance.

Just a guess, but I would think that you could arrange it through the event/wedding/catering department. Corporate groups and weddings have hosted bars at their events, so I would assume DCL offers something similar...what the cost would be, I have no clue.

We did this on our PC cruise, but I didn't organize it. It was a ton of fun. I think we paid around $20 a person and Diversions was closed for just us. We had a ton of people from our cruise group come, filled the place up. The bartenders were cranking out the drinks, whatever you wanted.

Do you mean this for $20 you had an open bar and were able to drink for free? That would be crazy. We looked into it for a meet and greet and were told we would have to pay for our drinks and the bartender who was I believe $500/hour.

Yes, we didn't pay for drinks and I think there were 3 bartenders working. This was on the Wonder in 2014, things may be done differently now. I was just looking back through our cruise meet thread, we had 76 people who did the open bar event, it was scheduled for an hour but I know we were there longer. I didn't organize it so I'm not sure exactly what the cost entailed, I did organize the drink tastings, we had 6 of those.

Wow...maybe that's why I haven't seen these on any of my cruises. The only thing I know about this is that money needed to be up front

We had one on our 2014 EBTA cruise meet group.. I didn't organize it though. If I recall correctly we each paid about $20 pp for all you can drink for a few hours. They had to end up bringing in more bartenders and servers. It was fun but kinda crazy.
