I am looking for anybody with experience in organizing a charity event. I have decided to do St. Baldrick's again in 2011 (shaving head to raise money for childhood cancer research) and I noticed that my fraternity is not doing it this year nor are there any scheduled in my region. I am tentatively signed up to organize one, but admittedly have very little idea what I am doing.
They will send me a packet and also put me in touch with one of their people. But any other help is greatly appreciated.
The one thing I am going to need to do quickly is to come up with a venue for it. I'm not really sure where to hold such an event. I have scheduled it for the weekend of St. Patrick's Day as that is when the event is traditionally held (hence the name). I notice that some people do it in pubs, but I am not familiar with the pubs around here. Where would one typically host an event like this?
At this point I'm not too worried about finding Shavees or barbers, I figured I would start with my network and branch out from there. Anyway, this is somethign I wll need to get rocking and rolling on, so any advice is greatly aprpeciated.
