Ordering special Items from Ohana

We will be eating at Ohana's while we are at WDW, problem is 7 out of 10 of us love everything on the menu. For the picky others, is there a way we can request something a little more simple for them to eat while we are all dining?

My mom wasn't too crazy about the selections when we took her there, and she was offered a vegetarian selection. She decided against that, so I don't know what it would have been, but apparently they do try to accomodate some differences in taste. :)

What type of special items? For a dietary restriction or just because they don't like the offerings?

I think that it is hard here since it is a specific menu to request other items except for dietary issues. If people do'nt want to have the food here, I would either have them dine elsewhere together, or choose another place.

I've seen posts confirming that children can order something off Kona's kids menu, however they are still charged the full 'Ohana price for the meal. An adult could probably get something from that menu as well or maybe something like fries/chicken fingers/pb&j/grilled cheese since these seem to be available many places even if not on the menu. I wouldn't expect to get anything more complex from the Kona menu though and be prepared to pay the 'Ohana set price for it.

I would agree to eat elsewhere, but I have a very picky DH and he is probably the only one in our group that wont like the offerings there. Seeing as this will be our last trip to WDW for several years, I dont really want to give it up for just one persons picky-ness. He has a hard time eating out to begin with. He will im sure find something, but it would just be nice if he could get a burger or something.

This would be perfectly acceptable for me, I would rather do this than have to choose a different location.

The reason I'm thinking they'd let adults do it is because of my prior experiences. At the Luau I was able to get the kids meal since I ended up not liking the adult food, at the Hoop Dee Doo we always get mac and cheese and fries instead of the beans and corn, and DH repeatedly has ordered the kids chicken noodle soup as his appetizer at many restaurants. The worst thing they'll say is no if you ask politely, but for the most part the CMs we've dealt with have been happy to assist us in finding something if we realize we don't care for an item - of course we offer to, and do, pay the adult price for these alternate meals.

Wow! I don't know how anyone could not like SOMETHING in the Ohana line up ! We thought they had a great variety for dinner!
