At Coral Reef, Be Our Guest, and possibly Sci-Fi we would like to order and pay OOP for kid's meals for DD10, and save her adult DP credits towards another meal. I have read here that is allowed, but I was hoping someone who has done this can answer a few questions. Will the restaurants give us a hard time about her ordering from the kid's menu because she is over 10, or is that only an issue if you are using DP credits to pay? If they ask me how old she is, do I just explain that she'll be ordering a kid's meal & we'll pay cash? I want to avoid an issue if the server would make a big deal about it, etc. She will be just under 11 on our next trip, but looks a few years older. We had a waitress at TH question her age to the point of embarrassment last trip (she was a few weeks shy of 10). Even my daughter told her how old she was. TIA!

It shouldn't be a problem at any of the restaurants you listed. I have read reports of some people having issues with their "Disney adult" children ordering from the kids' menu, but it's been mostly at restaurants that aren't Disney owned.

You were likely questioned at Tusker House because it's a buffet and the pricing is based on age, not portion size.
Nobody knows anything yet about Be Our Guest but the other 2 a la carte restaurants, if you just say you are going to pay cash for the child's meal and they will be ordering from the kids menu you should be fine.
