Ordering from DVC grocery list

if you order groceries from the order form on the DVC site, do they deliver to the room if you aren't there? Or haven't arrived yet? I only need two or three things, but we don't land until almost midnight, and I was hoping to find a way to have food delivered so we can have breakfast the next morning without having to go somewhere.

Yes, they deliver to the room. My daughter worked the College Program a couple of years ago at the Contemporary and she pulled a lot of grocery orders and delivered them to the Bay Lake Tower. If the guest was not there they'd put the perishables in the fridge and leave the rest on the counter. In spite of what we see on this forum, she said a lot of DVC'rs use this service.

They deliver after you check in around 5:00. You do not have to be in the room, they will put items in your refrigerator.

Using online check in doesn't guarantee that you are at WDW. I would think that they for sure want you using your room. What if your flight is delayed or canceled or the morning of your flight you get ill and stay home?

My thought on this was, with the direct to room feature how would they ever know if we were actually here? But to answer my own question, yes they do deliver it anyway. We went straight to our room about 12:20 am this morning and the items I ordered were here and the milk in the fridge. It was wonderful!

Good to know. Maybe they check your MDE account for activity.

Maybe but we had no activity. We didn't land until 11:30 and came straight from the airport. I was so happy it was there. Made breakfast much easier this morning.

I wouldn't think that they would take the chance of you not showing up.

Considering the groceries are fully paid by the member by Credit card before delivery they are not exactly taking any risk

I don't see Disney making a guest pay if they had to cancel due to some last minute emergency. I suppose that they could collect the food and put most of it back into inventory.

Also it wouldn't happen very often. I wonder how many guests use the service?
