Are you alowed to order from the childrens menu at Disney restaurants if you are over 10 - youngest DS is so fussy about what he eats and I know that he would not eat most if not all of what is on the menu, not only that he eats incredibly small amounts of things - even smaller than the average childs portion, but eats little and often. Now I am not suggesting that i take an older child in and lie about his age - couldn't do that as he is the height of an average 12/13 yr old - but I am quite prepared to pay extra for it but not to waste my money on an adult size portion that he won't eat. Opinions would be helpful. Thank You

While I don't have a definate answer for you I'm sure something can be worked out. I know that the CM's in the restaurants are very flexible. Ask...you may be surprised at the answer. Or how about sharing? That's done all the time.

Took DD12 and her best friend 13 to Disney in Nov 05, they both got to order off of the children's menu at Tony's, San Angel Inn and 50's Prime Time. Although at 50's they girls wanted the chicken nuggets off the kids menu. When we asked if they could order off the kids menu, the waitress said yes, but also asked if the wanted the adult portion. There was no adult portion on the menu, they just changed it for the girls, and the only difference is that there were more nuggets. I would just ask when you are seated if you could have a children's menu too, just in case he can't find anything from the adults menu. :flower3:

My DD was 11 when we went last summer so an "adult" (we went on the Premium so we had paid adult prices for her). She was always handed a kid's menu and allowed to order off there if she liked - which was most of the time.

The only thing will be buffets - there you will be paying the adult price.

Otherwise, there wasn't an issue at all.

I belive the Tinkerbell's puzzle dessert is on the kids menu at the Yachtsman Steakhouse - our entire table ordered that for dessert without any problems.

When staying in Disneyland Paris, our family would 'cut down costs' by ordering kids meals for the adults at the CS Restaurants.
Should we anticipate any problems doing that in WDW?
They don't see, who I am buying it for so we sould be fine....shouldn't we?

Thanks for your help - I will certainly ask if we can order from the kids menu for him.

We went in May and December last year and everytime I asked if I could order off the children's menu I was told this was Disney and I could order anything off the menu I wanted. I appreciated this because I had gastric bypass last year and really didn't want to tell every cast member my life story. Although I do have a card from my dr explaining my dietary requirements, I paid the adult fee if we went to a buffet.

At CS, you can order off the kids menu no problem. We do this all the time. Especially at World Showcase places so we can get a "taste" of everything. The issue only comes up at TS places.

We went for Christmas 2005. I have an 11 year old who does not like the stuff on the adult menu, so I just politely asked if she could order from the kids menu. The servers were more than happy to accommodate us. We did this at Rose & Crown, Sci-Fi, and at Cinderella's lunch. Now, we did have to pay the adult price at the castle, but she was allowed to order the chicken fingers(strips) and the kid's dessert. Her portion size was slightly larger than the regular kids portion.

My daugher is 18 and picky. She might have a full steak dinner one spot but only want macaroni and cheese at another...typically if that is what she wants its because she also wants an appetizer and dessert...at any rate we just got back and she just ordered what she wanted without really asking.

She would maybe comment, child's mac& cheese so I have room for dessert.

No one ever said a thing.

I have a couple picky eaters in my family, too, and we have never had any problems with older kids (or adults!) ordering off the kids' menu.

Unless it's changed, the only Disney table service menu that says older people CANNOT order from the kids' menu is Flying Fish. My oldest son likes his food plain, and he's eaten kids' meals at a bunch of different places. He got two kids' pizzas at Mama Melrose after the server told him they were small.

Also for Character Meals, Buffets, show dinners and all you can eat they will be charged the Adult Price.
