I need to send 2 separate orders this week. Both are to people in a different state. I've always used a local florist to contract with their local florist but my last 2 orders have been disappointing.

Has anyone used and been happy with any of the online ordering places?

poll coming...

We love love love Pro Flowers. If you search for codes, you might find 5-10% off. Click on the radio icon on the top right, put in Dan and get a free vase.

Most recently we have sent the pineapple bamboo and an orchid, 2 different orders.

Edited to add: We use them for "regular" flowers as well, they are beautiful and last a long time.

Whenever I send flowers out of state I do a search for a local shop, to where I want to send them, and call them directly. There's no third party involved getting a cut and you can speak directly to the folks who will be preparing the order.

I go with FTD, I have sent flowers to Florida many times. They will find a local florist for you.

I've all ways used 1800 flowers and they do a very nice job.

I've always had good luck with FTD. Tried KaBloom once and was terribly dissapointed.

1800flowers....awful!! I used them alot for long distance flower sending. But a few years ago I went to the local 1800flowers store to order an arrangement that I was going to pick up personally. This was a $100.00 arrangement with alot of roses and a beautiful basket. When I went to pick it up I was shocked to see the actually end product. All carnations("we ran out of roses) and a cheap plastic basket 1/2 the size of the pictured one ("we ran out of baskets").
When I told them that this was not acceptable, they offered to put in "a few more flowers". I cancelled the order and went to a local florist. When I contacted 1800 corporate office they sent me a coupon for 15$ off my next order. I don't think so!!!!!!!!!!
Bottom line is on previous orders I have NO idea what was actually sent on previous orders, and their lack of concern was even more troubling.

Love Proflowers. Once when I sent some roses to my grandmother the vase (the one that comes free with pretty much every order) arrived broken. She let them know and instead of just a new vase they sent her a whole second order of flowers, free of charge. I know some people don't like that the recipients have put the flowers in the vase themselves, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. For the price I can usually get twice as many flowers than if a local person delivers it.

I also sent some flowers recently from Hallmark.com. Although they were just daisies, I was told they lasted a long time.

When I need to send flowers I go to my credit card web site and use the link on their page so I can get double points and sometimes a discounted rate. My CC company uses FTD and we have always had beautiful arrangements and fruit baskets delivered.

ProFlowers is great. Once my husband sent me roses and by the 4th day they were dying - I called to complain and they sent me a whole new shipment of roses and a new vase too :)

It was actually DH who ordered them, but he was extremely happy with ProFlowers. He sent me roses last valentines day. They were absolutely STUNNING, smelled great, and lasted over a week!

they are technically going to the same place a week apart so I think I'll try one from FTD and one from ProFlowers.

I've also had bad luck with 1800 Flowers but I figured I'd include the choice anyway.

I've called directly to local florists and have had mixed results.
