If I order my AP's through the website and select the will-call option, will it give me a voucher number so I can order the DDC card?

I just want to make sure before I hit the order button.

I did it by phone last month and DVC connected me to DDE so they could verify I was an annual pass holder. Then they called the next day to give me my confirmation number. I did it by phone just to be sure.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and do it by phone! I do almost everything on-line:surfweb: , but getting the AP's on line and then trying to get the DDE card was a nightmare. DDE said I had to call Member Services, MS said they couldn't confirm the AP's - aaarrgghhh I finally called the ticket office and they made the connection to DDE so I can pick up both the AP's and the DDE card outside of EPCOT. Leaving on Friday morning !!

Is the DDE card worth the $ if you are going twice in a year...We are only doinf 4-5 TS this time and a couple that don't accept the DDE. Should I buy it? Is the DVC card enough?

It's worth it, Saved over $600 with family of 10 in May in 5 days.

Do not choose will call if you want to order the DDE card! You need the numbers on the back of the voucher or actual pass to give to the CM in Dining.

If you choose the will call option, you are in for a big hassle trying to find out what those numbers are - sometimes the ticket services people can help you but you will spend a lot of time and effort on your phone (with no guarantee of success) to get those numbers. If you want the DDE card, pay the $3 and have the voucher mailed to you!

You are right CarolMN, it is very easy and well worth the $3 to get those vouchers mailed to you.

The DDE is available to FL residents for $85 and AP holders for $65. You have to look at how much you will spend at the restaurants that accept the DDE to see if the 20% savings will exceed the cost to purchase the card. For example, if you pay $65 for the DDE card, your pre-tax meal costs must be at least $325 to break even. Once your costs exceed $325, you start saving money with the card. The discount includes alcohol as well as food.

The card paid for itself in one visit to V&As - then we spent the rest of the week saving 20% on all our wine and alcohol. What a treat!

I should add that the CMs at Ticket Inquiries COULD NOT have been more helpful  ....It seems this glitch in info re: WILL-CALL pick-ups & DDE card causes them more trouble than is fair...Hope someone clarifies issue on Ticket Order site soon...and without DIS & people like Carol MN to help :cheer2: , I pity the poor uninformed guest:sad2:

So as someone who is going to be ordering the DVC AP's and the DDE how would you reccomend I go about doing it. I would prefer to receive the DDE card ahead of time because we will be arriving on a Sunday morning and would like to use the card for lunch and dinner.
Thank you,
Chris

Depends on your time frame...but either way...I'd order DVC AP ASAP. Click on whatever mail service you want ($3 regular/$10 3-5 business days fedex). DO NOT ASK FOR/CLICK ON 'WILLCALL'. This way you'll receive your actual AP voucher.

As far as DDE, it becomes active once you order it...if that doesn't matter...call as soon as AP voucher rec'd. If they don't have time to mail it to you, you can pick it up (or a letter of confirmation) with your actual AP at Epcot Guest Services & not sure where else. Hope this helps!

I will be calling on the Friday before we leave so make sure that the temporary card will be at EPCOT when we arrive on Sunday.

I'd recommend that you either call Thursday or first thing Friday morning to make sure the card is there on Sunday (The DDE office is not open on weekends). There is a cut off time (not sure when exactly). If you call after that, the card may not make it in the group sent to EPCOT. Better to call a little early than take a chance.
