I am thinking of ordering DDE card for trip starting on 12/13. I am an annual passholder. How long does it take to get the card? What if I don't have the card by the trip. Any advise re: calling vs. faxing to order?

I was able to order it even though our trip is only SEVEN DAYS AWAY (Woo Hoo!). They set it up so I can pick it up at Epcot Guest Relations when we arrive. Apparently that is the only place you can pick it up.

Took ours 3 and 1/2 weeks to arrive. But I do believe they have a setup where--if the card dosen't arrive before your trip--you can go to a certain Guest services booth at Epcot and get a card to use. Ours arrived just two days before we left, so I didn't get a chance to experience the Epcot thing.

We faxed in an order for DH's card on 11/1. On 11/2, I called to order myself a separate card (yes, I know that we can get a spouse card, but we needed 2 separate cards as we will be traveling with 20 people), but the CM told me to wait until the following week so that it would be good thru the end of 2006. She told me that it didn't make any difference if I called or faxed my application in. So on 11/11 I faxed in an order for my card & received an email confirming the order. Then we wondered why DH didn't get an acknowledgement for his order (as it turned out, we forgot to put email address on it). Decided that we would call next week (about DH's card) just to make sure (it had already been charged on our account) as we are leaving on 12/1.

Then in today's mail ... DH's card arrived! 19 days! Now, while it will be really nice if mine arrives also before we leave, I don't mind going over to Epcot to retrive a copy.

Hope this helps ...

Have a wonderful trip!!!

My DH called last week and ordered the card. They offered him a spouse card as well, they got a little confused when his last name was not the same as mine. Oh well.

Then they told him it could take up to 6 weeks. I thought to myself - why does this process take them so long? I got my renewal ap in the mail within one week and I paid a heck of alot more for that card than the DDE.

We do not leave until Dec 30 so our chances are good that we will get it. DH thought he was calling so early to get it mailed - but thought since it was the christmas season as well he better get it going.

Either way seems like a GREAT DEAL for us and I am excited to use it!

When I spoke to a CM last week they told me they were running 3 weeks. It was only 6 weeks last year when they first opened it to AP holders.

I think you'll be fine

they say it takes between 4 to 6 weeks to get your card. it only took about 3 weeks for us to get our card. i ordered mine through an application that i mailed. i called to order it during the summer for our september trip and the lady adviced me that if i got the card in july, it will be immediately activated and i would lose 2 months. i ordered it in early august and got it towards the end of august beginning of september. i'm not sure what would happen if you go to WDW without the card. just go to www.allearsnet.com and find out.
